He/She got me too...but only once

This entry is just an FYI for;     shadowhawk3680

You are.... from this date forward blocked from my journal.  It's not nice to fool with people and their journals.  We enjoy what we do and we enjoy reading our special friend's journals.  You need to learn some respect.   You might even learn something about respect and courtesy if you would read some of them and keep your spam to yourself.

Warning About A Deadly Game

I wanted to share this information with as many people as possible.  It seems this "deadly game" is becoming an epidemic in the US and other parts of our world.  I became aware of it when , the son of one of our local family practice doctors' died a couple weeks ago.  She and her husband did an interview with the local newspaper, telling their story and that of their son's hoping to save another child's life.  Now this young girl in Seattle has died and on the front page of my paper today is the picture of another young man, who was injured doing this at school but didn't die.  In his case, the kids were doing this at school between classes.  So I hope that those of you who have pre-teen and teenage children or grandchildren or know someone who does...will pass this information along to them. Until next time....Linda

Thursday Evening, Another Entry

I reported in August about my 45th class reunion.  They talked about the next one in 5 years, I thought yikes, we'll all be 68 years old and that's too long to wait.  So.....I went to a local travel agent and talked to her about a reunion cruise, next August thru the Alaska inside passage.  I emailed all my classmates that I had email addresses for and mailed out 116 notices to the others.  I've gotten a few responses, some already have plans for family reunion and such but some are as excited as I am. Of course, it's not really me they have to contact for reservations...it's the travel agancy.  Anyway I just got another call tonight from a former classmate and she was so excitied, her husband says they can go!    And yesterday my long-time friend, Lynette, called and she's going and wants to be my room mate, since her husband won't go (I guess he gets sea-sick).  This cruise is something I've wanted to do for over 30 years.  My former husband and I used to talk about it.  So...this old lady is excited, it looks like I'll finally get to cruise to Alaska.  We are scheduled to leave Seattle on August 11, 2006 (returning August 18th) on the Royal Caribbean "Vision of the Seas".  There will be stops in Skagway and Juneau, among others and then coming home we'll spend a day in Victoria, BC.  After talking to several people, we decided "the more the merrier" so now it's open not only to our fellow classmates but friends and families as well.  I think there are even a couple of the nurses at my office that want to go.   So hey, if there's anyone out there that wants to get in on this group cruise.....send me an email and I'll get you the details.   Now, if I can calm down...I'm going to go read my book and then try to get some rest so I can make it to work tomorrow.    Until next time,   Linda

JOHN'S MONDAY PHOTO SHOOT

Your Monday Photo Shoot: Give your camera to a child, friend, spouse or relative and have them shoot some pictures. Show us the pictures they take. This will be more fun if you have a digital camera, of course (because they can snap off a whole bunch of pics), and I also find it's a lot of fun to give the camera to small fry, because their perspective on what's photo-worthy is different than the rest of us.  From John at;

I took my camera to work, hoping someone would come in with their child and I'd let them take some pictures.  Well, that didn't happen so I had to become like a child and do it myself.  So here's my pictures; 1. myself and my co-worker Junee clowning around, at least we both have our headsets on so we can answer a call if one comes in.

2. one of the bulletin boards I have at my "cubicle."  It's got some work related stuff but mostly personal pictures, etc. that make my space at work feel a little like home.

3. my wood stove here at home in my living room with the first fire of this fall season.  It got so warm in the house today, I had to open the front door to cool it off.  Then I discovered it was 60* outside and I really didn't need the fire after all.

Until next time......Linda

Thursday Mid Day

Well, it's a cool rainy morning here in Western Washington.  We haven't had a real rainfall for months.  And even tho the pavement looks wet out my window...I'm thinking it's just "pretend rain"  a little sprinkle here and a little sprinkle there.   The pavement is also littered with leaves from all the maple trees here in this community where I live.  I have a huge cedar tree in front of my house and it just drops it's little dead branches all over the front lawn but most of my neighbors have maple or willow trees and of course their leaves end up in my yard.  HOWEVER.....I have a sweet retired neighbor, who loves to use his leaf blower.  So, he "takes care" of his leaves and mine.  What an angel he is.  He even clears the dried leaves out my carport when I'm at work.  Fall is truly a beautiful time of the year but I don't like winter.  So I make a motion that we go from fall to spring to summer and back to fall. (Leaving winter totally out of the picture)  All in favor...raise your right hand.  The motion has PASSED !!!    I did start a fire in my wood stove this morning...don't tell Julie and my grandkids tho because they're probably a few miles away freezing their buns off.

Category:  Favorite Bracelet

I don't wear a regular bracelet very often, but I do have a silver charm bracelet watch that I wear several times every week.  I got it from my friendly Avon lady last spring.  I have a gold one that my brother & sister in law gave me last January for my birthday and I wear it occasionally too.  It's very pretty.

11 REASONS TO SMILE

11 Reasons to Smile

Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.

I saw a woman  wearing a sweat shirt with "Guess" on it
So I said "Implants?" She hit me.

How come we choose from just two people to run for
president and 50 for Miss America?

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Darn...that was fun!"

I signed up for an exercise class and was told to wear loose-fitting clothing. If I HAD any loose-fitting clothing, I wouldn't have signed up in the first place!

When I was young we used to go "skinny dipping," now I just "chunky dunk."

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able
to tell the difference.

Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over? AMEN, AMEN !!

Why is it that our children can't read a Bible in school, but they can in prison?

Wouldn't you know it...
Brain cells come and brain cells go, but FATcells live forever.

Why do I have to swear on the Bible in court when the Ten Commandments cannot be displayed in a federal building?

I don't know about you, but I sure got a chuckle out of these,
and I'll bet your friends will too!!

I've learned....
That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
