Weekend Assignment #95: The Best Money You Ever Spent From John at; http://journals.aol.com/johnmscalzi/bytheway/entries/5392 I'd have to say my present car. I love it...my back doesn't hurt, when I have a long distance to drive and it's fairly easy on gas. It came from the Los Angeles, CA auto auction; my friend Bob, has a son-in-law in Pasadena, CA that's an auto wholesaler...so when somebody in the family (or in this case me) needs a new-used car, Bob flies down to California, stays with his daughter & son-in-law and haunts the auto auctions with Jerry until he finds the perfect car. Then after they are all checked out and minor repairs are taken care of (if needed) Bob drives them back to Washington (approximately 1,200 miles) Everyone of them, has been a perfect match. My present car is the second one I've purchased from down there. I've had my 1997 Toyota Rav 4 for 3 1/2 years, it had 60,000 miles on it when it went thru the auction (about 85,000 now) and I've not had one bit of trouble with it. It starts every morning and is a comfortable ride. I love it !! I get the oil changed every 3,000 miles and I'm sure I'll be able to drive it for years to come. So, as far as I'm concerned....this is the best money I've ever spent. Linda
"Extra Credit: Aside from food, what's the next purchase you plan to make?"
I really don't need anything around the house, so I guess the answer to the Extra Credit would be; the Seattle to Alaska Cruise I'm going on in August. I'm saving my pennies for gifts, etc for my family, to be purchased in Juneau and/or Skagway.
