I love Friday's...my day off. I hope it warms up a little before I go back to work on Monday. It's just barely above freezing this morning, but most of the snow (in my area at least) has melted. Although, as I was taking the garbage can out to the street last night, I noticed there are still a few slippery spots in my driveway.
My thoughts are with the people in U.K and Europe this morning who have been pounded by the severe winds the last day or two. So many people killed and injured...it's really sad. And some of our journal friends have had property damage as a result of the wind. Hopefully, the wind will blow its self out soon and all will be calm.
I am so excited this morning....the movie "The Queen" has finally arrived at the big theater up the street from my house. It was in town before at the sweet little private theater in town, but always in the afternoon when I was working. So Barbara will be here a little after noon and we'll head up there to watch the first showing today. Actress Helen Mirren plays the role of Queen Elizabeth II (flawlessly...the critics are saying.) I'm so happy it's finally arrived to the local theater complex (15 auditoriums for watching movies at this one.)
Happy Friday...Linda

I'm looking forward to seeing that film ~ you will have to let us know what you think of it ~ Winds have died down here today and electricity is back on ~ thank goodness ~ Ally
"The Queen" looks like a good movie, I would like to see it too, but don't think it is one the hubby would sit through so will have to wait for it to come out on DVD. I am still waiting to see Marie Antoinette, too. Enjoy your time off!
I hope you enjoy the film, I've heard it's very good and Helen Mirren is meant to be superb in it. The winds have died down a lot now but seem to be getting stronger tonight. Jeannette xx http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/
Happy Day off to you! I would like to see that movie too, but always wait until DVD comes out. Hope you had a good time and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I, too, will wait for it to come out on DVD or on SKY. I have heard that Helen Mirren is brilliant in it as she was in Elizabeth 1. Hope you really enjoyed it! We are still having wind, wind and more wind this morning. I will be glad when it blows itself out! I'm quite tired of it!

I'm anxious to hear about "The Queen". I heard it was received better here than in the UK. I Find that hard to.
Stay safe and warm. Hugs, Barb http://journals.aol.com/queenb8261/DiaryofaMadwoman/
