I have the regular size daffodils blooming too, but I love these little ones the most. I have planted them around the outer edges of this old whiskey barrel that holds one of my mom's rose bushes. Mom passed away in 1987 and we dug up some of the rose bushes when we had to sell their home in 1991. My daughter has several at her house and I just have this one, which is a beautiful Fragrant Cloud (a hybrid tea rose). My dad used to take small tubing and make name plaques for all her roses and I still have the one he made for this one. You can barely read the name anymore so I keep it strictly for the sentimental value.
The last few days have been very delightful here in western Washington, warm (up to 60 degrees) dry and just basically pleasant. But today, we are back to our normal spring weather, it's much cooler and there are intermittent rain showers. I need to get my work clothes on and do something constructive in this house but I think first, I'll go back to Wal Mart and get a pair of those shoes (like I bought the other day) in black. I wouldn't want them to sell them all out, leaving me without cute black summer shoes.....and the dusting will wait. :)

Yes of course the dusting can wait ,go get your shoes ,before they sell out ,you will enjoy the dusting far better when you have your summer shoes ,I love those little daffodils too ,how lovely you still have your Mums rose bush ,and the sign your Dad made too ...love Jan xx
I love daffodils Linda, we call the little ones `tete a tete` and I had some of them last year. The rose is a real beauty, how lovely that you have this reminder of your beloved Mom. :o)

Well...that does it. I've got spring fever now. Its starting to get warm here, and I just bought some fertilizer for the yard. I'm patiently waiting for the flowers to start blooming now.

it's right at 70 here today....gorgeous! and just before this last cold snap, the trees were coming alive with pinks, whites, and reds....i love spring!

I have enjoyed the yellow flowers and aren't shoes wonderful?!! I love to go to Walmart and Payless and buy new ones as much as possible.

Oh how I love spring...the season of yellow. I just love to watch those dancing yellow heads. They always make me feel all cheerful and warm inside.

I have the miniture daffodils too and enjoy my neighbors full size daffodils across the street.... That rose is beautiful... How wonderful of your dad to make plaques for all your mom's roses... I have over 25 different rose bushes.... and don't remember the names of any... lol...

I have nothing blooming. Not even a crocus yet. Everything is up, tulips, narciccus and daffys, but no blooms. I used to have about 5 times as many bulbs as I used to but we have a lot of slugs/snails, grubs and moths and I know they eat up my bulbs in the ground. Glad you're enjoying some nicer weather. We were up in the mid 7os today but due to be 2o degrees or so cooler over the weekend. Have a good one.

HI, Linda! I have a planter just like that with little daffodils blooming...that's it thought...I use it mostly for annuals...the rose bush idea is a good one. What a nice reminder of both your mother and father....:)
