Well, I made it to Curves today and was surprised when I walked in the door. The gal that was on duty said "Oh Linda, I'm glad you're here. You were one of the 10 biggest loosers for the month of June and you get a Curves T-shirt." Now that's one place it's nice to be a big looser! Anyway, she brought me this V-neck, short sleeve black T-shirt, over on the left side, embroidered in silver it says "Elite Member" and then under that in gold is embroidered "Curves." And there on the "Biggest Loosers for June" wall was my name along with the names of 9 other members. I was so pleased, especially since I just started going there in May.
After I left there, I dropped off little Callie Rose's birthday gift. They weren't home so I dropped it thru their mail slot. I was hoping I'd get to see her and give her a big birthday hug, but I guess that can wait for another time.
Yesterday evening I did put that chest freezer on Craigslist. I hadn't even got it cleaned up yet when I started getting calls. After I got home this afternoon, I went out and gave it a good scrubbing, inside and out. I got several more calls and one fellow said he would be there as soon as possible. He was way up in Kirkland which is about 46 miles from here. Pretty soon this big white pick up pulled up in front of the house and two young guys got out. They took a look at the freezer, saw that it worked (after I got it cleaned, I ran an extension cord out & plugged it in so it would be cold if someone did come and look at it), handed me the money (never argued about the price) and loaded it up and they were on their way back to Kirkland. I was so happy...happy to get it off my patio and happy to get what I asked for it, however I would have come down a little, just to get rid of it.
I got a wedding invitation in the mail today for a young lady, who I babysat from time to time when she & her brother were toddlers. Their mother, Mary Kay, is an old friend of my daughter's and when Mary Kay & her hubby wanted an evening out, frequently they'd bring Ashley & Tristan over to my place for the evening. But, I am so bummed out...the wedding is at 6pm on August 17th and I leave on the Alaska cruise at 4pm that same day. Ashley's parents have since moved to Iowa so I would imagine they will come out a week or so before the wedding and hopefully I will get to see them. And beg for some pictures of the bride and groom.
I've got the sprinkler in my back yard running all night tonight. It's a little dry back there (even with all that rain we had last week) and there's a bunch of kids across the back fence that love to shoot off fireworks every year. I'm always concerned about my grass back there being dry, so every year I let the sprinkler run overnight so it will get good and wet. I don't need the grass to catch on fire because on some wayward rocket, etc.
Bob brought his big truck and camper here, today. We're going to try and get a strategic parking spot down near the waterfront to watch the 4th of July activities on Wednesday. Along the waterfront, there are always all kinds of booths set up selling craft items, food, etc. Then there's an air show over Puget Sound (pew-jet) during the afternoon and then the fireworks display starts about 10pm. We haven't been down there for several years so we're still not sure if our plan will work. Usually a lot of the streets in the area are blocked off early in the day and are available for pedestrians only. So I'm hoping we can get parked on a side street maybe a few blocks up the hill from all the activity. One year, I'd like to venture over to Seattle and watch their fireworks. They have one show, where they shoot them off the Space Needle. I've just seen that one on TV, never in person.
Well, that's all for tonight. Happy Tuesday from, one of the biggest loosers, Linda

Linda that is so great about your being one of the "Biggest Loosers". Keep up the good work and we're not going to recognize you at the reunion. I used to love the fireworks over the sound, we used to go every year when I was little. I'm sure there are many, many more people that go now. Once again "WAy TO GO!" Joni
