It indeed is Friday...by this time next Friday, we'll be on our way to Seattle to board Royal Caribbean's "Vision of the Seas." I was thinking this morning that those folks boarding the ship today & then sailing at 4pm will be getting off next Friday morning, so we can get on. And on Saturday about 12:15pm, we'll be at the Meet & Mingle affair...where, I'll finally get to meet fellow AOL journaler, Lanny & his family. One big hitch though...they are starting work tonight on a 1 mile northbound section of the I-5 Freeway thru Seattle and those in the know claim there will be traffic jams like we've never seen in the Pacific Northwest. They claim at times, the traffic could be backed up to Tacoma ( a distance of about 30 miles). This is planned to last for the next 19 days. So what time do we leave here, to make sure we get to the ship before it sails at 4pm...that is a good question. We can take old Highway 99 up to the dock but that's likely to be jammed up too. Does anyone out there have a helicopter we can use?

Yesterday, my knee felt so good, I didn't even put the brace on. I just went about my business as usual. But about 7pm last night it suddenly started acting up again. And today, I have the brace in place. It almost feels like it needs to go to the chiropractor...it's a weird sensation for sure. I actually mowed the front lawn Wednesday night and it was fine. The dandelions in the back yard are getting taller but the ground is so uneven back there, I hesitate to take a chance, mowing it. Does anyone have a goat I can borrow?

I got into my closet (you'd have to see this poor excuse of a closet to understand what an ordeal it is) and dug out all the stuff I've purchased for gifts in the last year. I got out brown paper grocery bags, one for each of my family members and sorted out the items. I bought a lot of potential Birthday/Christmas gifts on our trip in April, so really won't have to get much in Alaska this year, except for myself. Anyway, I found things for my son and son in law, who both have birthdays this coming Sunday. Their packages are wrapped and ready for them. My son-in-law will be off to a local Renascence Fair both Saturday and Sunday (his birthday gift to himself) so I'm going to drop his gift off today and the grandkids can stash it until they have a party for him. And my son, either has the choice of mom taking him to dinner or cooking dinner for him. I haven't heard what he wants as yet. It all depends on any other social invitations he might receive....LOL

Well folks, I guess I'll close this entry out and get on with my day. Gas is down to $2.77 a gallon at the 76 station nearby. My car has about a third of a tank, so I guess while the price is down, I should go get it filled up. You just never know when the gas prices might edge up again. It also need to be washed. It's just tall enough, so that in order for me to wash it, I have to use a step stool & with my knee all messed up, I don't feel comfortable doing that. So I'll have to find a station where you can "fill er up" and for $3 or $4 dollars you can run it thru the car wash. The Shell station I used regularly is still all boarded up after someone lost control of their car and crashed into the main building. Their car wash was the best in town.
Have a happy Friday....Linda in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

I'm so happy for you! WOW, to take a cruise!!! Must be nice. :)
Take good care of that knee, don't want to do anything to make change your trip plans or make you be in pain on your trip.
Hugs,
Sugar
I wish I was going with you Linda, I haven`t been on a cruise for years and would love to go again. I`d also like to visit Alaska one day as your photos from your last cruise really appealed to me. I`ll have to see if I can send a goat over to Washington so it can eat your dandelions for you...lol! :o)
Love Sandra xxxx
No public transport (stupid question)?
Next week???
How exciting for all of you! J
Alright Linda, now you quit taking chances with that knee, you don't want to do anything that would make you miss this trip. As far as the commute, my only suggestion would be leave for Seattle really early, you could always waste a little time down around the piers if you get there too early, and you'll be there and not have to worry. Anyway, I'm sure that's what we would do, cause we're always early anyway. You take care now, Joni
Keep that knee rested! You want to be all ship shape (every pun intended) for you trip NEXT WEEK! Woo hoo! The time is fast approacing! Have a lovely weekend! AND rest!

I can't believe it is only a week until you go!! It seems like yesterday it was a month away. Like the others say...rest your knee!!!! Just because it feels great doesn't mean you are ready to take on the world. You want to be able to enjoy your cruise without having a bothersome knee.
