There's already reports of power outages close to my house. One house not too far from me has been cut in half by a falling Douglas Fir. Fortunately, the owners are on vacation in California so no one was hurt. There's been peak gusts of over 60 mph near my house.
Up around Seattle they are also reporting power outages, flying trash cans, branches and falling trees. The 520 floating bridge, across Lake Washington in the Seattle area may be closed soon. The waves are slapping up against it on the wind side. Check out the web cam. I'm glad I don't have to travel over it on a daily basis.
I've just heard that a lady has been hit by a falling tree in a parking lot in Kent. She's been rushed to the hospital in serious condition. And in Seattle falling power lines fell on a loaded school bus. They were able to get all the kids off safely.
There's a high wind warning on the Narrows Bridge..they've measured peak winds on the bridge at 63 miles per hour. It's very scary on the bridge during a wind storm. For sure you don't want to be towing a trailer, boat or anything like that across there when the wind is blowing hard. It will flip over !! Once a boat was lifted off it's trailer and flew up over the guard rail and dropped into the water below.
The news people are saying there are 20-24 foot waves on the coast....oh I wish I were there. The owners of the various shops are sand bagging the doors of their businesses to prevent flooding.
The fire in my woodstove has gone out and I think I'm going to leave it out for now. It's in the corner of my living room where that big cedar tree sits just outside. If a limb came off and crashed into that corner of the house...well, lets just say that I don't want to take any chances of a fire.

Glad to hear you're safe and sound, so are we and we still have power obviously.
There are some strong gusts and I do expect the power to go out eventually. Take care, Joni
I just looked at your forecast Linda, it said the wind wil drop late evening. Hope you stay safe! During our storm in '87 the winds were gusting at 120mph, sounded scary. Jeannette xx
Wow I hope you're okay. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a bridge during wind. Storms are just going crazy everywhere today. My cable just went out and it never does that so I'm wondering if the bad storms are in the city before me. We're under tornado watch right now. Crazy day indeed. Stay safe.
Take care, Chrissie
I was at school all day - I guess University Place must have been sheltered from the storm, we hardly knew it was happening. Just a little gusty, but fine otherwise and no power outages.
That all sounds so frightening Linda ,.I hope the storm soon blows it self out and leaves you safe and unharmed ...love Jan xx
Hope you've managed to catch some sleep, Linda
My goodness this sounds terrible. I can't imagine the damage that will show up once the storm passes and morning rolls around. I hope you come through safe & sound.
