I wanted to share some pictures as we get closer to Christmas. First is a picture of me, visiting Santa. Obviously at an age where I wasn't terrified. I imagine I was about 4 (turning 5 right after the New Year). I do remember (as I'm sure most people my age remember) the huge Santa production in the department stores back in the 1950's. There was one store in town that even had a small train that took kids for a ride below the elevated platform where Santa sat. And there were people dressed up like elves who took us up to Santa's knee. (Just like in the movie "A Christmas Story")************************************************
Then the years passed and my daughter Julie came along. Unfortunately, her Santa picture has disappeared...but she was also about 4 or 5years old. She was sitting on Santa's lap with this look that said "mom, I'm going to get you when we get home." She has this really angry look on her face. I have included a smiling Christmas time picture of her when she was 4 years old (December 1965)
*************************************************
Then the tradition continued with my son Jim. In his Santa picture he was 16 months old (December 1972) and obviously not happy with the whole situation. You definitely tell where I was standing.... Poor baby, he was not a happy camper.

If you want to follow suit and post your Santa pictures...please be sure and leave a link in my comments so I can come by and visit. Linda

Oh, I love the Santa pictures, I have none of myself but lots of my kids and grandkids, in fact I made a collage out of them. But Linda, I remember that train too, I tried to explain it to people many times and no one could figure out what I was talking about. I used to love that, and we would have to wait in line quite a while I remember. Thanks, Joni
Awwwww so cute....
I will have to see what I have....
I don't think son2 or son3 have any pictures with Santa....
We're off to see Alvin and the Chipmunks...

Hello Linda. What lovely pictures. I always love to go through my mum's 40 million or so collection of all 5 of us girls and endless grandchildren when i visit her! lol. Thank You so much for your kind comment. Pam xx
Lovely pictures Linda. I was terrified of Santa when I was small, so there are no pictures of me on his knee, but I can still remember how terrified I was each and every time!

I don't even remember having any Santa pictures of me. I can remember one of my son with my nephew. My sister was so mad that he jumped in the picture my son was a baby. But I thought it was cute I really didn't care he was in it too. I don't remember having my daughters pictures made with Santa.. isn't that awful. We just never had the extra money. My daughter doesn't have the extra money either, but I've taken my grandson every year to have his made so she doesn't have to worry about it. It's one of my gifts to them.
Take care, Chrissie
