Vacuuming at 11pm & a free senior soft drink

It was up to 84* in Seattle today.  The big thermometer on my porch went to about 82* by this afternoon.  So tonight I waited until just before 11pm to vacuum.  It still was about 75* here in the house but I'm sure that was cooler than it was earlier.

I didn't start my day until almost 1pm.  I woke up about 5am this morning and could not go back to sleep.  This after watching David Letterman until after 12:30am.   So about 10am I laid down again and slept until after 12 noon.  Oh, how glad I am I'm not working !!!

This afternoon I went to K-Mart and bought a bag of their K-Gro weed & feed.  The dandelions are thriving and I have to get something on the lawn before it's solid weeds. The directions said to water the lawn thoroughly so I brought out the hose and sprinkler, set it on the front lawn.  I let it run several hours so tomorrow afternoon it should be ok to spread the Weed & Feed.

Bob is away so I didn't have to cook dinner today so I pulled thru Taco Bell and got a couple crunchy tacos and a "Free" senior diet soda.  You seniors out there...did you know Taco Bell does that?  You have to buy something but even a couple 99 cent tacos works to get that free senior drink.  For dessert I had a bowl of cottage cheese with diced peaches~yummy!

Before I came home I stopped and topped off the gas tank.  $3.79.9 a gallon for regular unleaded.  Where will it stop?

I watched an interesting documentary on PBS about Walt Whitman tonight.  It was good even if he was a little eccentric.  I do have an old copy of his "Leaves of Grass."

Saturday is full for me.  I'm going to lunch with a group of gals from the little hospital I worked at back in the 1980's.   Then later in the afternoon, I plan on going to the Memorial Service for the sister of our journal friend Joni.

I realized today that my journal celebrated it's 3rd birthday/anniversary on May 6th.  I can't believe it was three years ago that I began.  Thank you all who have hung in there with me since the beginning.

I hope you all have a good weekend....until next time, Linda

Linda I can't believe those temperatures!  We've had some beautiful weather here in England the last week or so but this morning it's raining again, not too hard and I guess the garden needs it anyway.  Yesterday we bought £50 worth of plants for our window boxes and tubs, tomorrow it's supposed to be nice again so, weather permitting, we'll be getting stuck into it!

Have a good weekend! ~~ Pat  http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

that is good to know about Taco Bell; I also heard they are adding a lot of items to their value menu; it is nice when restaurants offer little freebies like that to seniors

retirement must be fun to have no schedule but the schedule you want :)

hope you enjoy your weekend with friends; sad though about your friend and her sister's passing, glad you will be able to be there as a support for her

Happy anniversary to your journal!

wow....it was warmer for you yesterday than it was here in the deep south!  it's been on the cool side the past few days, but today should be warmer...near 70 with tomorrow in the mid 70's.  those are my ideal temps.  lol

Congrats on your Anniversary...I wonder when I started reading you.  How did we find each other?

I love cottage cheese but not with fruit.  As weird as it sounds I like to eat ruffle potato chips with mine, use them to scoop a big dollop of cottage cheese. Yum!

Enjoy your day...it's raining here!  YEAH!

Sounds like a good day.  My parents said it was 95 there!  And at our house?  69.  With a brisk wind.  I was frozen!  I need to do some yard work.

Congrats on your anniversary, I think I'm coming up on four years in a few months. So many changes since the beginning, losses too. But I am so happy that I got to meet all that I have, really a neat community even if we are spread out to the four winds..lol.  Enjoy your day...love, Sandi

It's in the low 50's and wet here now Linda. I think that's my sunshine you have. Send it back PLEASE, I'm freezing! I hope you have a good time with your friends today. I hope Joni gets through today all right, it's tough losing a sister. Jeannette xx

Yummmm, taco's.  I can't remember when I had one but it sure sounds good.  My little town has a Mickey D's, a Hardee's and a Sonic for fast food.  No versatility...all burger joints.  I'd love a Taco Bell or a KFC would be nice.  Oh well.  Enjoy your weekend.

I wish you could make a car run on tinned beans!  It would be a lot cheaper!  We paid £115.9 a litre two days ago for petrol, which works out to £4.64 a gallon or $9.27 a gallon roughly!  It's criminal!
