I decided after all the work of setting my carport sale up...I would keep it open today and start packing up around 2pm this afternoon. Meghanne is coming over after church to help me...so that will be fun. So, I've been open 1½ hours and had one non-buying customer. I even have big 50% off signs out today.
I thought as long as I was out there and it's nice and cool so far today, I would do a little work in the front yard. I got the roses and other flowers deadheaded...then decided to feed the roses and my hanging baskets and I hit a brick wall. My jug of rose food & the Miracle Gro is in the front shed and Bob has the key for it in his pocket and is long gone from here. One of these days~I'm going to beat knobs on his head! He always forgets to leave that key here!!!
Here's some before and after pictures of the carport;
Thursday afternoon~tables all set up & ready to be loaded with "priceless junk"
Boyd's Bear stuff
some of Meghanne's pictures
I can't believe no one went for the black & white cow stuff
I have 3 boxes of Beanie Babies~why did I get caught up in that ...oh so many years ago?
I wish she'd stay on her pink blanket!

Looks like some good stuff! I would have stopped for sure...you have it very nice and organized. I hope you get some sales today...maybe the "after church" crowd will be coming by soon.
What is the ceramic dome like thing on the table?
Oh boy, wish I could have got there, looks like a treasure trove. I would have had the teapot, the cheese dish thingy, some of the toys and and and ........................I would have bought so much!
As for beanies, please do not talk to me about them. What a scam they turned out to be. I got caught up in them, thought they were lovely. I have over four hundred and have no idea what to do with them. When you check the current prices lists they are worth practically nothing. Some are worth less than a quarter of what I originally paid for them. So they are in the loft. I hoped I would have had a granddaughter and she could have had them.
Oh I would have had the wooden stand with the cutout heart as well and. ...............well I think I could have cleared you out almost single handed!
OMG! I love the teapot & cake dish, just love them!!!
I used to have a little heart cut out shelf like yours. I went thru a cow phase, & a beanie baby phase. LOL
Wish I'd been there! I love garage sales, but since I'm homebound, don't get to go to any now, someday maybe. :)
Hugs,
Sugar
You did a fine job of setting things out. Everything looks like very nice items; you should've sold out, in my opinion! I've got 50 years of collections here, drives me nuts as to what to do with the accumulation, too good to throw out, and hard to find new owners. Sad. Judy
I saw several items in the photo's that I would have bought. Shucks, just too far away. Very nice job of setting things out.
Hugs, Joyce
lots of nice things!!! my MIL was into beanie babies too; she had a curio cabinet stuffed full of them; not sure what she did with them. I ended up selling a lot of the kids ones (when they were ready to part from them) at garage sales for 50 cents each.
now I can see what you might list on eBay to sell; you have lots of interesting treasures :)

How much do you want for the kitty that won't stay on her pink blanket!?? LOL!!
Well, you did a nice job of setting it all up, too bad not many will take time to appreciate it... LOL!!

Sorry about you non-sale. It seems Gabi was a little put out seeing that the newspaper seemed to be where she wanted to nap.

Sorry that you didn't do as well in your sale as you had wanted to do! I miss those types of things over here. They do car boot sales, but usually have them on Sunday mornings, and of course I am in church then so I miss them!

I understand! We had a yard sale too and we ended up either giving or donating or practically giving it away in the lowest prices ever! Not in a hurry to do that again here. Congrats on your weekly caption. It soooo fit the picture!
Nancy

Congrats on winning the Weekly Caption; it was so cute:)...........alice
Are you sure you have enough stuff? It looks like you could open your own shop and have a thriving business.

You had a wonderful setup and some nice things for sale!!
and as I was sitting here reading your entry, son2 brought in the mail and a card from Linda in Wa.... now how many Linda's in Wa do I know, lol.... How wonderful!!! and such a beautiful card.... Our anniversary's on Friday, but we'll probably do lunch next Monday when we have the day off together.... and the boys are in school.... which starts tomorrow....
Thank You!
Linda :)
Hey I NEED some of that STUFF! LOL! I am a yard sale, flea market junkie I tellya. Why is it that cats will do just about anything (like sit on the edge like that) and be uncomfortable rather than comply and lay in the pink blanket? Stubborn creatures arent they? Kelly
