It seems there's a "wall cloud" around the Puget Sound area. They've recorded 34 lightning strikes within a 20 minute period. Huge amounts of rain has fallen over the Bremerton area....there's 10 inches of water on some streets there. They are predicting intense rain fall, hail and damaging winds.
I was just outside and the sky overhead here at my place is pure blue but all around me is a huge wall of white thick clouds low on the horizion.
Puget Sound Weather Outlook
** A thunderstorm with heavy rain is currently moving east from the Kitsap Peninsula into the greater Seattle/Puget Sound area. Expect heavy rain, occasional lightning and possible hail within the hour in Seattle**
Updated Monday 4:00 p.m.
If you were looking out your window around Seattle this morning, you might now qualify to say "Now, I've seen everything."
We had the summer heat, thunderstorms, chilly air, heavy rain -- and then today we capped off the past 10 days with "funnel cloud."
In case you haven't seen our home page, check out the video of the funnel cloud captured over Lake Washington this morning around 8:45. The weather blog has the explanation over what it was.
The weather is trending much calmer for now, but still a few hours of active weather to get through.
A Convergence Zone has formed right over Kitsap and King County and some embedded showers and thunderstorms were drifting east toward the greater Puget Sound area. That means from between Tacoma and Everett, expect rain and possible lightning and hail at times this evening, tapering off after sunset as the zone drifts to the Cascades and fizzles.

I'm blaming this weird weather on Fay! Linda

stay inside, ride the storm out!
I talked to another J-Lander last week, and there was a tornado sighted in Manhattan! We're used to the possibility of tornadoes here in Indiana, but it sure seems like they've been turning up in some strange places lately. I hope you and yours are well!

Hope you ride the storm out :o)
I was looking at the farmers thing today on line and it says that we are in for a very wet and cold winter. I wonder if I can still find rain boots? We wont get snow but we might get flooded!

Wow that is a lot of lightning...don't go walking around with a coat hanger on your head for a while!
Did you know Florida is the lightning capital? Yikes!
It rained all day here (and that was from Fay). It went across the Florida Panhandle and made a turn up Mississippi and into Southern Middle TN. We needed the rain so badly. We were very happy to welcome the remnants of Fay.
Hugs, Joyce
that is interesting weather!!! and so much rain!! wow!
betty
Although Miami has some pretty quirky weather, Washington (and Oregon), two of the most beautiful states in the nation, have to be the most nerve-racking. Ya just don't know hot to dress.
Jimmy
getting crazy weather here too... lots and lots of wicked thunderstorms and rain. We broke several records.... I'm just glad it isn't snow
hugs

The weather just seems getting stranger in places now! wonder if it has something to do with global warming? I hope this very important issue is finally addressed by the up coming presidential elections.

We have had alot of severe thunder storms here as well. Usually they hit at night. Then the next day it will be sunny.....hugs, Christine
That is alot of lightning strikes! Call me crazy but the cloud between the tree and the litte hole looks like a face. Do you see it? Maybe I just need more coffee. LOL

Linda,
Fay is way too far away to influence your weather over in WA. But, it's lively nonetheless.
