Pearl Harbor

Remembering today all those who lost their lives in December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor. May we never forget that day. However, I'm afraid many have forgotten already...I didn't see any mention of it in my Sunday paper today. Maybe the article was so small I missed it. It should be plastered on the front of every news paper in this country. In another 60 years will what happened on Sept 11, 2001 be forgotten too?

There was an article in our paper today, Linda. I don't believe it will ever be forgotten, but I'm not sure why there isn't much about it this year...I suppose because everyone's thoughts--even WWII veterans, my Dad included!--are taken up with the crummy economy.

When people forget, history is bound to repeat itself. Scary thought! We must never forget.

I didn't forget, however, I was not home all day so did not hang my flag out as I'd hoped I could. But I did remember the day. I do hope that we'll never let the day get lost in history.

My Grandfather was there and he told me all the horrific stories about this day.
Maybe thats what made me join the military?
God bless all those that lost their life on that fateful day!
God bless our Soldiers!

It was plastered all over the front page of my paper. I appreciated reading about it again. Made me so thankful for our military personnel, and the sacrifices they make to secure our country for all of us, even the ones who 'trash' our country.
GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.

I didn't see much in yesterday's paper (Sunday) but today there is a big photo and article commemorating Pearl Harbor; the men/women who served in WW2 are slowly dying out; not too many left; I'm sure it will always be remembered; just not sure by how many in what capacity as that generation continues to age and pass on

The younger ones don't have much of a clue. The smarter young ones will read and learn about Pearl Harbor. "Remember Pearl Harbor" is a cry that should always serve as a wake-up call.

I don't know why this date escaped me (well actually I do). I do remember my parent's telling me about where they were when they heard etc. My dad was in the USAF at the time and was called off of his vacation leave to return to duty. Thanks for the entry.
Hugs, Joyce

I visited Pearl Harbour in 2002, it's such a sombre place with all the markers where the ships sunk. USS Arizona has a beautiful memorial, it was spooky to think all these men were still down there in the harbour where they were struck down. After being there I don't think I'll ever forget it.
