The Morning After..

Well, it's over....now we just have to hear about the results for days and days.  One thing I did hear on the local news this morning, is that the statewide ban on smoking in public places (including taverns, casinos, bowling alleys & clubs) is passing by a huge margin.  Also it would ban smoking within 25 feet of any public building.  The smokers can still smoke, they just have to do it in their homes, cars or outside.  I'm sure even in places like taverns it will make it nicer for those have to work there.  Right now it's about 70% for this ban and 30% against.  So, it looks like it will pass and if so, it will take effect December 9th of this year.

Well, I've got to go get ready for work, have a good day.....until next time, Linda

Wow; that's great that it will restrict smoking so much. I would imagine there are grumbling people about this, but I'm sure there are also a lot of happy people who enjoy going places like a tavern without coming out smelling like they've been smoking. Thankfully our restaurants are nonsmoking, but it used to irritate me to go and pay a lot for a fine meal and have the smell of a cigarette sometimes ruin it all.

Oh, boy!  When we lived in Arizona, the same ban went into effect in the city of Tempe; a lot of businesses were hurt because of it (bowling alley is the one I saw first hand).  The leagues emptied, and everyone went running to the neighboring cities, instead.  I am a non-smoker.  But, my husband is a smoker.  I am currently "on the fence" about this issue, as I can see both sides of it...JAE
