Thursday Evening

Well, the weather has been wild here in the Pacific Northwest the last couple days.  Rain, wind, thunder and lightning all with dropping temperatures...I guess summer is really over.  And the big thing is the snow in the mountains.  The weather guy says there's going to be 8-10 inches this evening.  The skiers snowboarders are drooling and waxing their skis and boards . The popular Crystal Mountain ski area is opening tomorrow and the other big area in our local mountains, Snoqualmie Summit will open next week.   The season was so bad last winter that the owners at Snoqualmie are saying that people with season passes from last year can use them again this winter.  That's nice of them, especially when they have no control over the lack of snow.   They say there should be about 120 days to ski season, last winter there were less than 30 days of skiing in Washington's Cascade range.   I'm not a skier, never have been but I know a lot of people who love it, so I'm happy for them.  Until next time.....Linda

Linda I guess you are right, Summer has gone, 8 to 10 inches of snow - that will make the skiers happy,  nice of the owners of Snoqualmie to let people use their passes again, that is good customer service......Take care.....Ally

Nice of them to give the skiers the chance to use their old passes, That seems to happen a lot in the States, when I was in Dollywood the park closed half an hour early due to torrential rain and a danger of flooding, they gave us a full refund of $40.
