Sunday Message-Get Over It

The pastor at my church has been doing a series from the book of Joshua in the old testament.  This morning he was speaking from Joshua Chapter 8.  It was such a blessing to me, that I wanted to share just a few points with you.  First of all consider what Henry Ford once said;   "A mistake is an opportunity to begin again, more intelligently."

Some of the points the pastor made this morning are as follows;

Successful living is learning how to get over failure.

A victorious Christian life, is a series of new beginnings.

God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.

Look for great victories after failure.

After failure God will give you;  a new start,a new strategy, new successes and a new steadfastness.

I was so blessed to be reminded that no matter how many times I fail....I can always leave my failure behind and start over.  God is so good !!

It's a beautiful sunny day here, however it's kind of cold out there.  But, I'm going to bundle up and for 1 hour go out with my hand pruners and prune back all my lavendar bushes and some other shurbs that are out of control.  The weather guy said on this mornings' news that we can expect rain most of this next week.  So this is a good chance to get a little work done out there.   Then it's back into the house and finish my sewing project, do some ironing and get ready for WORK  in the morning.

I'm going to be doing a very special entry on Friday, March 17th and it has nothing to do with St Patrick's Day.  So I need to start preparing for that too.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend.  Until next time.......Linda

P.S.  KRISSY.......Happy Birthday to you on Monday !!!

looking forward to your entry on March 17, 2006; now I'm very curious.

Interesting sermon your pastor did. Our pastor started yesterday a series called "The Anatomy of Failure" siting a lot of things your pastor did. He is basing his on the life of Peter.
