They Said It Would Happen But Everyone Said "No Way"

Wednesday brought cold tempatures, wind and rain to Western Washington (again). I kept running aroumd here Wednesday evening trying to get things done, thinking the power would probably go out again. The floating bridge over Lake Washington (Seattle) was closed due to heavy wind and the wind, heavy snow and avalanche danger closed a couple of mountain passes.  Another one was requiring chains on all vehicles. My friend Dianne & her hubby are heading down into Central Oregon today to celebrate her birthday with her son & his family.  They have a couple mountain passes to cross so hopefully things will clear up a little for them as they head out this morning.   For several days the weather people predictated "snow Wednesday night thru Thursday." For some reason, this time I believed them, maybe because I watched the temps drop, especially Wednesday.  So here we are...it's Thrusday morning and I get up....open the front door to retrive the news paper off my porch and sure enough...it's snowing.  I wonder what all those "nay sayers" at work will have to say for themselves this morning.  (If they show up that is)  My Toyota Rav 4 has anytime 4-wheel drive so I'm going for it. I wish you sunny skies on your Thursday.......Linda

Sounds like the weather is pretty bleak. We have had rain all week although it is dry today so far but freezing weather is predicted to hit us again this weekend.

Hi Linda,  we`ve been having lots of badly needed rain here with much milder temps.  Your weather sounds really dreadful for the time of year.  I wish your friend a very safe journey. :o)

My son left Fort Lewis yesterday.  They went down through CA and across.  As I said in my earlier entry this evening he is stuck in a blizzard outside Flagstaff.  He just called my hubby on his cell and said traffic finally was moving slowly.  I hope he stops for the night.  He's probably tired and I am sure the girls are cranky.  All we are getting is 40 mph winds and dust. Ugh.
