Ziploc Omelet

I got this from my longtime friend Nancy.  She sent it in the form of an email and I think it's such a great idea I decided to use it for a journal entry.   It's called "Ziploc Omelet" and you could use it for a group of people or just one or two people. And I'm going to try it this weekend.  Let me know if you try it and how it turned out, OK?

If you have a group, have everyone write their name on their Ziploc freezer bag with a permanent marker, so they don't get mixed up.    First crack 2 large eggs into the bag (no more than two), shake to combine them.  Then you can have a variety of ingredients such as cheeses, diced ham, chopped onion, chopped green and/or red pepper, chopped tomato, cooked crumbled bacon, or salsa, etc.   Each person adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake well.  Make sure to get all the air out of the bag and then zip it up.  Place bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes.  You can usually cook 6-8 omlets in a large pot.  For more than that just make another pot of boiling water.     Open the bags and the cooked omelet will roll out easily.  Be prepared for everyone to be amazed.   Nice to serve with frest fruit and coffee cake.     You can even make up the bag(s) the night before, leaving them in the refrigerator until your ready to cook them the next morning.

It's been sunny and breezy here in Western Washington today.  I think the tempature was about 65 degrees (just right).  They are saying rain is moving back into the area but after four or five sunny, breezy days everything is drying out again, so that's ok with me.

Until next time............Linda

Will have to try it sometime!!  Thanks for sharing.  Oh, BTW, yesterday it was 104 degrees and windy. Ugh. Had a cool front come through and it only got up to 98 today.  LOL
