BIRTHDAY EXCURSION

Grand daughter Meghanne and I had quite a day.  I had planned where I was taking her for her birthday outing and so when we got in the car I gave her the Map Quest directions and let her by my co-pilot.  We headed south on I-5 for about 16 miles to the town of Lacey.  Our final destination was the huge warehouse of a company called Shipwreck Beads.  Oh, my gosh !!  What a place !!  We stepped thru the door and just looked at each other...I said to Meghanne "where do we start?"  She suggested we go to the far back corner and work our way to the front. So we grabbed one of their flat top carts, and two trays with little compartments for our purchases.  We were in there almost three hours and really just skimmed the surface of what is available.  When we checked out, they gave us each one of their 2006 catalogs...which is bigger than the Fall-Winter catalog I just received from J C Penney's.  Check it out.........

By the time we left there it was 3pm, so we headed across the freeway to the Hawks Prairie Restaurant for some lunch.  We had really worked up an appetite...it's  hard work, maintaining  self control in a place like that.   After a leisurely lunch we got back on the freeway and headed for home.  Meghanne was anxious to get her purchases home to share with her mom.

As I sit here writing this entry, I can hear fireworks going off behind me.  They are not allowed here in the mobile park but my back yard borders the back yards of houses outside the park.  So they are free to shoot off fireworks to their hearts content.  I'm going out when I'm down here and get the sprinkler going in my back yard.  I'm always afraid some of their stuff will set my back yard on fire. Last year it was littered with all sorts of used up flying objects that had sailed over the fence.

So until next time......Linda

Sounds Like Meghanne had a wonderful birthday thanks to a wonderful Grandma by the sound of it!!The website was lovely, how things change.I often wonder what Our Parents would have made of the changes. We have lots of skyscrapers here in England now, up and down the city's,but I still love the old buildings, they are steeped in History and character.I love old stone buildings and churches. The architecture is wonderful on them.My it sounds a fantastic store. My daughter-In Laws sister is the editor for the J.C Penny's catologue.Hope you don't have too much trouble with the fireworks,we have that trouble,on the 5th Novenber Guy Fawkes night here in England and of coure the New year as everyone does.Sometimes the large fireworks can be very dangerous I think.Glad you had a wonderful day outing.Meghanne will surely want a return trip to that store no doubt LOL!!
God Bless you!!
God Bless America.
Have a wonderful Blessed Independance day today.
