Photo Scavenger Hunt #85

The entries for Scavenger Hunt #85 will be due on Sunday, July 30 at 11:00 PM EST.

The subject this week is:  Glass

I love old Anchor Hocking, Pyrex and other types of the glass items.  Some may remember the older Pyrex mixing bowls and little pitchers, etc.  I have a bunch of those, finding them at garage & yard sales is a bonus because they are cheaper there than at an antique shops.  They all had unique designs painted on them.  The green bowls in picture #3 really caught my eye.  I think there were 10 of them and even though they don't match my dishes, I loved the pure green color.  I sold all but two of them on eBay.  I just had to keep the two because I loved the color.               Linda

Very nice!  I remember my mother, grandmother and great grandmother used to keep similar glass items and hand them down to relatives when they passed away (Mom is still alive.).  They ended up being worth hundreds of dollars to collectors and yet they were purchased (new) for pennies by our poor family!  Kind of like saving a lump of coal waiting for it to become a diamond!  LOL  Shana

I love everything, but ESPECIALLY the green bowls.  You did well in not selling them.  Thanks for playing along in the Scav Hunt Linda.

It's hard for me to get rid of things like these once I have them.  That's why I have a clutter problem.

I still have my Correll dishes from our wedding, 34 yrs ago in Aug.  I also have my pyrex mixing bowls. I use then all the time.  Do you buy and sell a lot on EbAY?   I have a lot of books I have been thinking about selling on half.com but I don't know if it would be worth the trouble. Great photos.  Thanks for sharing.
I believe that God put on  Earth to accomplish a certain number of things.  Right now I am so far behind, I will never die.

I love those!  I have several antique pieces myself.  My favorite set of dishes were my Grandma's and they are called "Tickled Pink"   I'll send you a pic sometime.
