I GOT MAIL

I got a magnet in the mail today from a far corner of the United States.  It's from Orlando, Florida (and I've never been there so this is cool) and it was sent to me by Bill at; http://journals.aol.com/guru4yall/MyJourney/   Actually Robin fixed it so I got his name & he got mine...a true magnet exchange (she's so clever!)  I had to take it outside and put it on the little portable BBQ because I was getting so much glare of the fridge I couldn't get a good picture, so before anyone asks.......no I do not have a black refrigerator.   Thanks Bill...it's right dead center on the door to the freezer section and I love it!

Well, a few weeks back my "check engine" light came on in my car.  Of course it was right before I left on the cruise and then I was sick and now the license tabs expire the end of September and it's the year for an emission test in order to renew my tabs.  Well, guess what?  I went over to the emissions test place today after work and my car flunked the test.  So now I've taken it to the Toyota dealer for them to check and see what's the problem.  I have Friday off and now no car to go do my errands and I have to work Saturday.  Bob is still in town, so he came and got me from the Toyota place and brought me home...and said he'd come & take me to work Saturday if they don't get it done by then.  But, I WANT MY CAR !!!!   I just hate being without a car.  I guess I can't complain, all I've ever done to any car for years and years is have the oil changed.  They told me just to put it on the machine to check & see what's going on will be $85 and then there's the repairs.  YIKES !!!   And once it's fixed I still have to go back to the emissions place, have it tested again and then if it passes, mail their form in along with $65 for my license tabs.  Money, money, money.   My back yard is big enough, I think I'll get a horse.   Anyway Friday I'll be waiting by the phone for them to call me & tell me the good and/or bad news.  Then hopefully they'll have the parts needed to fix it and get it done by tomorrow afternoon.

Well, Miss Gabi is sitting here looking at me with that "I want to eat right now look" so I guess I'd better get off here and fix her Fancy Feast, before she passes out. Thanks again Bill !       Until next time............Linda

P.S.  I found a recipe for the Puyallup Fair Scones...I'll post it in my next entry.

Sorry your car is sick, I hope you can get it up and running soon. I've never had a car, I don't drive, but i understand how you can miss it. The fridge magnet is great, I have my fridge freezer covered in them although I only like to have them from places I've been to so I always ask friends not to bring me one back when they go on holiday!  Sorry you have to work tomorrow, enjoy Sunday anyway! I do not drive, wish I did but I could not start now.  I love fridge magnets but our fridge now had a wooden door covering it so I would not be able to see them.

Lots of people love these fridge magnets now don't they.I brought my neighbour one back from the states, when i visited,in the shape of a  banjo when you plucked the strings it played OH! Susanna. She loves it,makes her feel happy, when she is down ,she says she only has to touch it and the tune cheers her up.Sorry about your car, people who drive do get so used to having wheels. They are an expensive thing to keep today though.Repair bills and gas alone without insurance tax etc.Afraid I don't drive,my one regret in life.Your magnet is lovely Linda.Take care.Have a lovely weekend.

It's your EGR Valve.     Should be less than $100 to get fixed... but that's not at a dealership.   They always want an arm and a leg to go with it.
