MONDAY MORNING QUESTION

From Val (for Krissy) at; http://journals.aol.com/valphish/ThereisaSeason/entries/2006/10/09/monday-morning-question.../1822

If you could wake up tomorrow morning being suddenly proficient in any musical instrument, which would you pick?

I would love to be able to play Ragtime on the piano.  I watch with awe as some piano players run their fingers up and down the keyboard.  About all I can play is Chopsticks  and Twinkle,Twinkle Little Star.  But one of the things on my "Life List" for after I retire is to learn to play the violin...at least learn to play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on one.  The harp would also be fun to learn.

I would love to learn to play this wooden cherokee flute I have. I could listen to that  forever,it makes me so peaceful. Just think if I could play it like that I could float away in song, lol

My sister used to play ragtime, boogie, jazz, classical on our piano. She was just so good. I've never learnt to play anything although I did buy a banjo years ago. I got rid of it a few months later at the request of my long suffering family! Jeannette xx  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels

Well I can play the piano and the keyboard because I had lessons as a child.  Not that we have room for a piano but the instrument I always wanted to play was the violin.  I just love the sound.  My mother had one minus a couple of strings and she always promised she would get it fixed and I could have lessons.  It never happened.

i agree....the piano would be so fun to know how to play.I also wanted to know how to play the violin. I have a long story in my journal about my mom lying to me about letting me get a violin and then taking the yes back.

I played the violin in grade school and high school.  It was a hard instrument to learn, but I loved it!  I hope you can pick up one of these instruments and learn them!!  Good luck!!  Hugs, Val xox

I would love to be able to play the piano for our church. We need a second one because the lady that does it has many serious illiness's that keep her from coming sometimes. She is also in one of those motorized wheelchairs and sometimes that does want to work right for her. So, it would just be a blessing all the way around. I tried to take lessons when I was a child, but that didn't work out, financially with my parents, having to raise 5 kids.
God Bless, Liz

I like Ragtime piano music, too.  It's so happy!  No one can sit still when they hear it.
