STORM DAMAGE PICTURES

Since my post earlier this morning I found out my neighbor to the west of me had one Douglas Fir trees fall on his house and another fell into his back yard on his dog kennel.  Fortuantely, he was at his girlfriend's house along with his dogs and none of them were injured.  It's now 9:45am, the wind is still blowing and it's bitter cold out there.  I'm hearing reports of snow up in the Sequim, Port Angeles area (the north Olympic Peninsula part of Washington.)  Port Angeles is across the Straits of Juan de Fuca from Victoria, British Columbia.  Anyway, I still feel fortunate to have power and am blessed that no one was injured (although Gabi was as terrified as I was during the night.) Neither one of us got much sleep.  But....my family Christmas dinner is a week away and one of my tasks today is to get out there and get the shopping done.  So that's what I'm going to do.   Until next time...........Linda in wild & windy Washington

Seems like you just can't catch a break.  To put things in perspective, we have nearly 70 degree temps right now, barely a cloud in the sky, an just a hint of a gentle breeze.  I'm ready for winter!

I thought about you last night as I laid awake listening to the winds and feeling the house vibrate from the winds.  I WAS AWAKE for this!  Did anyone in our area get much sleep?  Drive safely, as I was driving home one of those construction cones flew out and right under my little car!  I couldn't move and I had a van the wind was pushing into my lane and a semi on the other side of me.  YIKES, it was a scare.  So, PLEASE drive carefully!

Wow!  Thank you Lord for taking care of my Linda and Gabi.  Roofs can be fixed. Rick said to tell you he wishes we lived closer because he would fix it for you for free. Hugs, Barbara

I'm so glad to hear you're OK Linda. It's scary what the wind can do, we had a hurricane here in '87 and lost 8 million trees through Sussex alone. I hope you stay safe and the winds die down for you. Jeannette xx

Now the pictures are showing - glad you weren't hurt or any of your neighbors.  I was reading there were 4 deaths in the area from the storm.

Oh my gosh Linda. I am SO far behind. I've been reading all your past entries I have missed and y'all have been having some WILD weather.  I'm am SO sorry about the damage to your home and to your friends and neighbors'.  I hope everyone is OK.  We have been having absolute summer nearly.  It was 78 here and not a breeze blowing.  And 3 inches of snow on Nov 30.  Supposed to snowing by Tues.  Take care and I'm so glad you are safe.
Hugs, Barb

My power just came on has been out since last thursday.  We had a tree fall across the road up to our house, on the power lines.  Boy am I happy now.
