Will The Papers Even Mention It ?

It seems every year the remembrances get put farther back into the local newspaper, if there are any at all.  Will it be mentioned on the evening news ?  Watch and see....look at your calendars in your homes...does it mention what happened 65 years ago on that sunny Sunday morning ?   I only have one calendar in my house that mentions "Pearl Harbor Day."  And that's one that came from Hawaii.  I bet the people over there remember....thousands of men and women lost their lives because of what happened that day.  God help us to never forget. I was a month from being born that Sunday morning and 6 months later it took my dad away from my mother and I, when he went into the Army.  He returned safely but many didn't.  Again.....God help us to never forget.

I know what you mean, although my calendar of Italy does have it on it.  I also notice they hardly mention the anniversary of John Kennedys assasination either.
Do you think they even talk about these things in school?  When we were in school they barely mentioned World War II.  Joni

It's such a big part of our country's history but I'd be willing to bet that most people under the age of 30 don't know what tomorrow (today) is. What is the saying? Those who cannot rememeber the past are doomed to repeat it.
Thanks you for reminding us.

Dec 07, 1941 - my dad had just (less than 2 days) been transferred from Hawaii to Washington DC.  He was a pilot for the US Navy.

I decided to look at my calendar and sure enough, there is NO mention of Pearl Harbor, looked at my date book and nothing.

However, on the other hand I know both my boys know the day.  Both knew before they went to serve in the US Navy.

Linda There is nothing on any of my calendars to commemorate "Pearl Harbour Day"  which I find hard to believe ~ seems all the people who died that day have been forgotten ~ Ally
