Muddling Along

I'm still muddling along with the sore knee and getting prepared for the weekend carport sale.  I've got a couple more boxes to go thru, then we can start putting stuff out.  After that, Bob will wrap the big blue tarp around the carport, I'll back my car up to it and then tomorrow morning we can be open for business.  My knee doesn't feel as bad as it did last night, I've been wearing a brace on it since my son brought them to me.  My but it's hot out there !!  Right now, (at 5pm)  it's 95* on my porch which is attached to the carport. It seems every year, no matter when they schedule this sale. it's either cold & raining or hotter than blazes.

We went to dinner at the home of Bob's youngest daughter & son-in-law.  They are the ones that had baby Marin Rose on June 21st...and by the way...she's very cute and at 5 weeks is already smiling when you talk to her.  Anyway the SIL is a fireman and Bob's daughter fixed baked potatoes the "firehouse" way.   They wash them, pierce them, put them in the microwave for about 5 minutes, then take them out (carefully, they are hot) run water over  them and then roll them in Johnny's Seasoning Salt and then put them on aluminum foil in a regular oven to finish cooking them.   Oh my gosh they were so good !  The seasoning salt on the outside really adds some flavor (and sodium of course)  So even though it's hot, I'm fixing them for dinner tonight. Along with some left over beef roast and fresh asparagus.  YUMMY !

The tragic search goes in in Minneapolis.  So many people playing the waiting game, not sure of the fate of their loved ones.  God be with them all........

Those baked potatoes sound really good.  I will have to try them that way myself!  Good luck on your garage sale!  We have been having some sunny warm weather here, but thankfully not as hot as you are having!  I saw a bit about that bridge on the news last night.  It's really heartbreaking to watch.  My heart goes out to them all.

The potatoes sound delicious, I will have to try them.  Best of luck with your sale, I hope you have a good turnout.  I'm glad to hear your knee is feeling a little better.  Once the sale is over you can rest up and give it the attention required.
Have a great day!
