Stormy Thursday

After heavy rain here all night, the TV weather guy said the wind part of our storm has hit the Washington coast.  The coast is about 120 miles west of me. There was one weather buoy off the coast that clocked a 60 mph gust.  In the town of Westport (there's a web cam at their site) gusts have been clocked at 30-40 mph.  They are predicting wind in the Seattle-Tacoma area at about 2pm this afternoon.  They say it will take about 6-8 hours, to pass thru, so right thru the rush hour. Hopefully that’s all it will be when it comes our way.  My woodstove is going, it’s nice & warm in here and if the power goes out…I can even warm up some soup on the top of the stove.

I woke up this morning with a horrible cold. My head is stuffed up, I have a deep chest cough and I feel generally crappy.  But once again…I’m home, not at work.  I got out the juice, the Vicks, the inhalers, and the Kleenex tissues so I’ll be ok.  The only thing is, I was planning on going to the Homecoming Events Friday morning at my former high school.  I think now, I’ll stay away.  My resistance is obviously low right now and I don’t want to pick up something else and I certainly don’t want to expose anyone else to my “bugs.”

I got a delivery from Amazon the other day.  It was three new books for me from the author Richard Paul Evans.  Two are older books of his but one is his latest book, entitled “The Gift.”   Richard Paul Evans wrote the “Christmas Box” and if you’ve never read it or any other of his books, I highly recommend them.

That’s all for now…those of you here in western Washington (and you know who you are!) stay safe, warm & dry.  Linda

Oh those colds seem to have a lot of people down around here!  It rained all day yesterday here in WI but no high winds at all.  It's very muggy here but at 55 degrees it doesn't seem to make that much of a difference on comfort.
Off to check out your link :)  Have a good day and get alot of rest today.

Tuck up nice and warm indoors Linda, I'm so glad you don't have to work any longer! Pity you've got to miss the Homecoming Events but it's better to stay home and recuperate!  Jeannette xx

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling bad today, I hope you take care & get better soon.  It sounds cozy in your place, you & Gabi can snuggle together and rest.
They are calling for severe storms here today with high winds as well.  The weather has been so crazy lately.
