Freezing Temperatures & Fat Rain

After the balmy days last weekend...the temperature has been steadily dropping all week.  Yesterday it was down to freezing, so I left the faucets dripping and the doors open to the under part of the cupboards that contain plumbing. This morning my first glance was out the kitchen window to the big thermometer to find it reading 30 degrees and then off to open the mini blinds on the front windows...it's snowing.  The front yard is white and there's snow on the shrubs but it doesn't seem to be sticking on the road. Although with freezing temperatures...what's on the roadway could be icy.  I'm so glad I have no obligations to be out on the roads this next week.

I got an update on baby Peyton yesterday.  She's up to 4 pounds 3 ounces but she's still having spells of bradycardia and before she can go home she has to go for 5 days with no spells.  Friday she had three spells, so they have to start over.... counting the days.  Also she has to be able to take all of her nourishment by breastfeeding or bottle.  She's not quite to that point yet.   The family is hopeful she'll be able to be home for Christmas.

I've got the gifts wrapped for my daughter and family, so sent a message to my son-in-law that he can come by alone (without the kids) one day and pick them up.  Now I have to get going on the photo albums I bought for Bob's older grandkids and get the package ready for Pasadena.  And Bob needs to get out and get gifts for at least that part of his family.  He's the great procrastinator when it comes to Christmas gifts.  He never knows what to get and puts it off until the very last minute.  Several weeks ago, I was talking to his Pasadena daughter (Hope) and we went thru the whole list of grandkids and she recommended which gift cards would be suitable for which kid.  I wrote them all down and into the wallet they went.  But none have appeared as yet.  Also, he like to get a little something for his daughters & their spouses.  Last year he got a Starbucks gift pack for each of them & they loved them.  This year Starbucks has new & different gift packs so I suggested he do that again.  I told him the other day, the package for Pasadena is being mailed the end of this week..so he better get to hopping.

I'd like to send out Happy Birthday wishes to Jeannette's husband Mike (also thanks to him for all the pictures & videos he takes for her journal) and to the other Jeannette, mother to Gabi's U.K. friends, Nina & Katinka.  Those of us who read her travel journal, love to travel vicariously thru her.  I hope you both have had a wonderful birthday and I'm sending good wishes for many, many more!

Well,I'm off here to get another cup of coffee and get on with my day. The snow is still falling gently and it will be interesting to see how much we get and how long it hangs around.  Until next time.....Linda

Sounds like your weather is right behind ours here!  We have been having negative temps here...hope that doesn't make its way to you!   Have a great day :)

You are having the same kind of weather we are.....not nice!!!  How nice it would be for little Peyton to be home for Christmas, I am sure that would be the best present her parents could ask for.
