Today, December 4th is my daughter Julie's 46th birthday. ( I was only 10 when she was born. LOL) Julie came into this world kicking and screaming at 4:10pm on December 4, 1961. It just happened to be my dad's 48th birthday and one week before my grandma's 69th birthday (When she ws little Julie always called her "great, great."). And she was born exactly one month before my 20th birthday...so you know what that makes me on January 4th.....OLDER THAN DIRT !! Until my grandmother passed away in 1978, the three of them celebrated together. Then in 1989 when my dad passed away, Julie had her birthday all to herself...although that first year was very difficult for her.
Over the years, she has convinced her husband about the celebration of "birthday week." Which brings her a gift from him everyday, the week prior to her special day. I understand my grand daughter got up early this morning and made a waffles and sausage links breakfast for the family and is baking a German chocolate cake today at Julie's request. They will celebrate quietly at home tonight after my son in law gets home from work. He picked up her gifts from me a couple weeks ago, so will bring those out of hiding later this evening too.
Happy Birthday daughter dear...I love you! Your mom
