Tragedy on Christmas Eve

It took place in Carnation, Washington, 20 miles east of Seattle.  A sleepy little rural town...it's all so horrible...4 adults and 2 little children killed at grandpa and grandma's house on Christmas Eve by a 29 year old daughter of the older couple and her boyfriend.  They've been arrested and have confessed to these heinous crimes.

On going coverage can be found at ; http://www.komotv.com/news/12882912.html

I can just imagine...the warm house, the food prepared,  all the gifts under the Christmas tree, the excitment of those two little ones...and then these two monsters walk in and later...6 lives have been snuffed out.

The crime was not discovered until Wednesday morning, when the mother, Judith Anderson, failed to show up for her shift at the local Post Office.  A co-worker went looking for her.

What makes people so evil ?  How could this 29 year old woman, be a part of killing her parents and her brother, his wife and their precious little children?

This was in our newspapers as well.  It defies belief.  Might have been they were on drugs.  It is so very horrible.

Linda, I know this whole thing is so sad and disgusting.  It reminds me of "In Cold Blood".  What a terrible mess this world is in, I'm telling you it's scary.  So nice that Seattle made the world wide news for a terrible reason again.  I've just been tired and "disconbobblelated", is that a word, since Christmas anyway.  I will post soon, but I have been reading entries.  Joni

Hi, Linda,  I was very saddened to read about this in the Seattle Times this morning.   The holidays can sometimes bring out the worst in people.   Certainly this was one of those occassions.  It was on my mind all morning.   THere is more to this than meets the eye.  Sometimes people just snap.  Sometimes people are just unable to cope with their evil sides...evil comes in the form of greed, ignorance, apathy, lack of love, bad influences and fear.    Sounds like all these were involved.    I try not to think about it but I'm sure there is a lesson in here somewhere.....maybe the importance of love and what happens when someone lacks it...sure sounded like the boyfriend was not thinking right from the article and didn't have much of a home life as a child.  The daughter wasn't thinking right either...but I don't think her parents didn't love her or they wouldn't have let her stay in the trailer on their property.  Gosh, it hurts to speculate.  Our society needs to help people that don't have love in their family.   Maria

Horrendous and tragic, in two words, Linda. Not heard about that this side of the pond. One question pops up: why?

Linda
We may never know the answer as to why these horrible crimes were committed, especailly when they were committed by a family member.  I heard this story on the national news this am and felt just terrible about it.  I'm glad they caught the two, but that is small comfort considering the huge loss.

I heard on the news that they ambushed the brother and his family.  Killed them as they pulled up and got out of their car at Grandma and Grampa's house.  Sickening.  Allegedly over being taken out of the will.  Sad story, for sure...J

My goodness, but what a sad tale.  We just never know what lies ahead of us.  It's probably a good thing that we don't!  My heart aches at the evil that lurks in the minds and hearts of men.  So must God's . . .

I saw that on AOL news. What a horrible evil couple they must be, I just can't imagine what preceded this to make them commit such a vile crime. They need locking up for life. Jeannette xx

I finally got to watch THE NOTE and it was a excellent movie and yes I cried. Thanks for suggesting it. I didn't have time to watch it when it came on, but I recorded it on the DVR and just watched it this morning.

What beautiful looking children they were. Just babies.  The whole world is going insane, I think.  A punishment to fit the crime is needed here.
