It's Almost 5pm and It's Still Light Outside

Have you noticed ?  The days are slowly getting longer.  It's about 4:45pm as I write this and there's a beautiful sunset going on outside my kitchen window.  Another day when I wish I were 120 miles to the west of here...... at the beautiful Pacific Ocean.

Don't be fooled by the sun however, it's less than 40 degrees out there.

Evening Linda,

Yes, the days are getting longer and for us here today in -15 Alberta windy day it never can be to soon. (now I got lost when Canada changed to metric but bottom line it is COLD!)
I even went for a walk to try and clear the cobwebs a bit.
I like you am a pre-war baby graduating only a couple of years after you.
My best friend growing up moved to the USA years ago and enjoys that ocean you mentioned from Seaside.
I have just sold my cafe and trying to get this semi-retirement concept but it is not that easy having worked in the food industry as a Chef since '92.
I will look forward to reading your blog.
Not sure how you all put these together but maybe in the days ahead I to can learn.

Blessings,

Lori

I always find that the lengthening days bring me hope.  I know it's still the middle of January but spring can't be too far off!

The sunset was incredably beautiful.  I was wishing I had my camera with me.

funny you say this...the other night I was walking around the farm and thought it was earlier than it actually was since it was still a little lighter for the time.  It gave me hope that spring is around the corner!!!!!
