Saturday Heat Wave

It's just a little after 6pm Saturday and the big thermometer outside my kitchen window says 92*.  It's either all or nothing when it comes to the weather in western Washington.    Even my sidebar Weather Pixie says 88*.  Poor little Gabi hasn't done any shedding of her winter coat yet so she is really dragging.  She's all laid out on the wood entry way ~ her favorite place to stay cool.

The very warm weather has started a season of danger on Washington rivers.  The heavy snow pack is beginning to melt very fast and there's a warning on most of the rivers, especially here on the west side of the Cascades, that flooding could occur.  Also the water is moving very fast and the news casters continue to point out that those fast moving rivers are not the place to cool off.  I know one lady was swept away Thursday I think it was....fortunately she was seen from the river bank and rescue workers were in place down stream to pluck her out.  They said that the waters are so cold that hypothermia could happen in just seconds after entering the water.

I mentioned in my entry last night that I recently discovered that my journal was 3 years old.  Robin made a comment that she wondered when she started reading my journal and how did she find me.  Well, I did a little research.  First of all I started my journal because my daughter Julie (Jools) had a journal.  She has since stopped journaling but she's the reason I started.  She was telling me about all these great people from all over the world she was meeting and getting to know thru their journals.  So Robin that's probably how you found me...just like many of the other's that first commented in my journal.  So like I said, I did a little research...many of the people that commented back in May of 2005 are apparently no longer journaling.  But here's some of my first readers that still do journal;  Sandra over in England you were the first. Also Linda, Krissy, Jae, Monica (I don't think you even realized it was me at first), AngelroseJeannette, Jan and the other Jeannette (private journal) all in England....Betty, Susan, Val, Donna and of course Robin.  Between May and September of 2005 you all stopped by to say hi. (If I've overlooked anyone please forgive me~it's so hot in this house.)  Again thank you all for sticking with me.  It's meant so much to have you a part of my life and for allowing me to share yours.  We've been thru a lot together in the last 3 years. Happy Journaling !!!  Linda

I'm fairly new to your journal but hope to be around for a long time.  I didn't start journaling until this past November...worried that I would not have enough to say (and that is still a concern for me).  I enjoy your journal very much.  Keep at it.
Hugs, Joyce

It was a HOT day today!  I had a photo shoot at Point Defiance and just MELTED.  We changed the location of our second shoot to a forest so we could hide in the shade.  That was MUCH better.

Keep cool!

I remember following your journal back then, Linda; I can't believe that much time has gone by already, where did those years go??

Poor Gabi; Koda is shedding up a storm since it is so hot here; he made himself sick today; was out barking in the backyard and running all around (his choice, not mine; I kept trying to get him to come in where it was cool; we had a hot day too) and he got overheated and threw up; but he's doing okay now

that is scary with the snow melt so fast and those raging rivers; hoping people stay out of them for sure

Congrats on the three years journaling!  I am almost coming up to my third year this April as well.  How time flys when you are having fun.  I know I have changed my writing to Blogger now, but I still consider myself a journaler!
love,
Marie
PS>  That heat wave sounds mighty nice to me!

Congratulations my friend on your three years.  I am sad that Julie stopped journalling, I miss her.  I have always enjoyed your journal very much.  Isn't it amazing how the time flies past.  I know when I started I thought I could only keep it going for a couple of months.  Again congratulations and here's to the next three.

Hi Linda, I just missed my blogginer anniversary myself.  I think I spent it in Hope Lodge, I can't remember.  At any rate, it was at the beginning of this month.  I need to do that entry, LOL. It has been four years!

Yes, I have been with you since your beginning, and I DID find you through your daughter!  Thank her for me, will you?  You have become a great and steadfast friend.  You have never given up on ME, you have always been there, with great ideas and advice.  And I am extremely grateful I "found" you!  Happy J-Birthday!!!

Congrats on your three years, Linda!  It will actually be three years for me in January, but I deleted my original journal, Susan's Shenanigans due to the online stalker issue and restarted it under a different screen name and journal.  When he found me again, I did what I should have done to begin with and turned him over to authorities.  Since I did that, no more stalker!!!!  Woo Hoo!  I have only had two commenters that I didn't appreciate the comments they left in the two plus years I have been journaling, one was the stalker and one was a guy who called our military, murderers.  I kinda went off on him in the next entry, lol.  Anyway, sorry I don't get by as much as I used to, as life keeps me pretty busy, but please know you are still in my thoughts often as well as my prayers.

God Bless!~

Susan

That's amazing we are all still here and yes so many are gone that I miss....
I always wonder how many actual AOL journals there are... And do we all seem to hang with the same groups and if so are we the popular group, lol.... I know all but two of the ones you listed above.... however I am familiar with the two by screenname....
Try to keep cool!!
By Wednesday we will be back to the 70's-80's so hopefully you will be cooler too....
Congratulations again on your three years!
Linda :)

Happy 3 year anniversary on your journal!!   Poor Gabi, she looks spent in the picture, mother nature threw her a curve ball.  I saw your temperatures on the weather channel and thought about you and wondered how you were holding up with such drastic temperaure changes.
