I've Got No Fingerprints

Oh, I was using some Super Glue and got it on my fingers.....what an awful feeling.  It feels like my fingerprints are gone.  I tried using nail polish remover but the two kinds I have here, have no acetone in them, so they do nothing.  At least my fingers aren't stuck together...wouldn't that be a fine kettle of fish?

The temperature is in the high 70's again here today and it's so humid.  The TV weather guys say we could possibly have "isolated"  thunder storms this evening.  In this case where is "isolated" ....this side of the state is so big, it goes all the way from the Oregon-Washington border down south to the British Columbia-Washington border to the north.  So I guess it could happen anywhere between Oregon & Canada.

Jimmy sent me a fascinating video.  It's called dueling pianos and features Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino.  It's a little long but worth the time to watch the whole thing.  Be sure and turn up your sound; http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xe5w0_ray-charles-jerry-lee-lewis

Tomorrow Bob and I are going up to the little town of Enumclaw for the first birthday party of his littlest grand child, Marin Rose.  We are both anxious to see her, her “big” brother Lance and of course their mommy & daddy.  We haven’t seen them since the end of April when we were there for Lance’s 4th birthday party.

Monday, I’m hosting a potluck lunch for the gals that graduated from the high school I did. One nice thing about this mobile home park is that we have a nice clubhouse, with a full kitchen, that the residents can use for functions like that.  I didn’t put an RSVP on the invitation but I’ve heard from about 12 people, that they are planning on coming.  No matter how many show up it will be fun.  We did this last year and I think 11 or 12 gals came. And we had a wonderful time.  So many live out of the area and of course it is summer (at least according to the calendar) so some people are away.

I’m thinking that Tuesday Barbara & I may try to go to the afternoon movie to see “Get Smart.”  I’ve seen lots of reviews about it and it’s supposed to be a good and even more important, funny movie.  Even the local movie critic gave it 4 stars and he hardly ever gives a movie more than 3 stars.  It's amazing to me that Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway so closely resemble Don Adams & Barbara Feldon from the TV series.

Well folks that’s all for now….hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far….until next time, Linda

You know you need to define humid!  LOL  It doesn't get humid in the NW.  What is it 40%?!  Oh heavens!  LOL  I think we have about 75% humidity here and that feels good compared to what the rest of the summer will be!

Have a good time on Monday Linda. No fingerprints? Lol, superglue is a pain to get off. I've found washing in soapy water gets it off. I've had it on my fingers before and spent forever picking at it! Jeannette xx  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/

I am glad you mentioned "humid" as I have been going around all day saying it is "balmy".  Felt stifled.  hate it.  And there is no doubt a thunderstorm is going to happen up here.  I can feel it...
Hope your potluck goes as well as last year!

The rain we were forcast never materialized and it turned out to be a pretty day.  I'm feeling so much better and did get out in it a bit.  Tomorrow my son is taking me to my monthly Walmart trip.  I try to stock up as much as I can in one trip for the month and then just need a few incidentals during the month.  Have a nice Sunday Linda.  Your cookout sounds like fun.  This would be a good time to for crime...with no fingerprints...LOL.
Hugs, Joyce

Peanutbutter mixed with a tsp of salt will get the super glue off.  Rub it in for about 4 mins then put a plastic baggie over your hands and let that sit for 5 mins.  Rinse off and your fingertips will be softer than a babies butt!

When I was heavy into crafts I used to get a lot of super glue in the wrong places...no matter how careful I was. That peanut butter antidote sounds pretty good....enough you get together it sounds like fun....love, Sandi

Sounds like you have a busy and pleasant week lined up Linda!!  I was always afraid to use Super Glue myself.  Because I was always afraid of gluing my fingers together or some such!  I used to love the Get Smart series on the telly when I was a kid, I bet I'd love the movie as well!

The peanut butter cure didn't seem to work.  However, I did not measure the salt...just poured some on the peanut butter & mixed it in good. (I even used Jiff because choosy mothers choose Jiff.) I followed the directions other than the salt, to a tee.  linda

Glad you got your fingers unstuck.  Your weather sounds good.  It is so windy here today that our windows actually slam shut if we open them.  Not cold, quite mild really but so so windy.

I can think of several reasons why I wouldn't want to get super glue on my hand, the least of which is having my fingers stuck together. Have a great weekend.

Well you can commit a crime now and they will never be able to trace you by your fingerprint...of course I know you wouldn't do that but I though I would throw it out there anyway.  I hope you enjoyed the birthday party, what a lovely name she has.  The get together sounds great - you are lucky to have use of a club house for such things.

PS) Doug wants to see Get Smart in the worst way..so looking forward to a review!

That Super Glue is some tough stuff LOL!

Temps high 70's?? I WISH! We're over 100° here! You live in the most beautiful land in the country. I almost moved up there twice. Enjoy your lovely cool green climate. I am so envious!  I love CA but I could have moved to WA in a heartbeat!

I heard good reviews on Get Smart. I hope you enjoy it. Good luck with your party.
