Rainy & Cool Saturday

We had a wonderful 4th of July on the waterfront....we saw some dark clouds in the sky, but we did not get rained on.    It was a perfect day!  Today it has rained almost all day....The grand kids had lots of fun, having never experienced the 4th in this way before.  And when we saw the long lines at all the sani-cans, we were so thankful to have the camper right there handy for our use.

After the air show we walked back to the camper and had an early dinner.  About 6:30pm Harrison & Bob walked back along the waterfront area while Meghanne I I stayed back at the camper.  My right knee was "all walked out."    About 8pm Bob & Harrison got back to the camper so we let  Meghanne open her birthday gifts from me and we had cake & ice cream.

Shortly after 10pm we sat back in our lawn chairs and watched the fireworks.  They shoot them off a barge out in Puget Sound & they were  directly in front of where we were parked.   We didn't have to move away from the camper like we did last year,

We hung around for a little over an hour after the fireworks were over, waiting for the traffic to clear. Even then it took almost half an hour to get out of the area and on our way home.  We dropped the kids off and headed home, getting in the door about 12:45am.   Thankfully my son in law came over about 5:30pm and feed Gabi her evening meal of Fancy Feast, so she wasn't starved to death when I walked in.  She did have that look on her face, like she thought she'd been left for good however. LOL

I took lots of pictures but won't be able to post them until I get my computer back.     Hope every one had a wonderful 4th and you're all laid back recuperating today.  Until next time....Linda

Sounds like a perfect 4th....how did that potato salad turn out?  Did you ever get your mustard?

I'm working on photos myself.  I'll admit to being disappointed about one thing ... the fireworks didn't last long at all!  We were watching the fireworks from the Emerald Queen - which started about a half hour before Tacoma and continued another 15 - 20 minutes after ours ended.  That was my only compliant about the 4th.

I had the BESTEST time on the boat, I enjoyed watching the other boats, the people and just being on the peaceful water.  More on all that when I get to post my entry.  Right now, I MUST finish up a folder of wedding photos.  That should be done tomorrow and then I can work promptly on the 4th photos. :-)

Again, THANK-YOU!

Laid back doesn't even cover it.  I did absolutely nothing today.  Glad you had a good time.  We did too.  Those late nights are hard on us older folks though.  LOL.

Sounds a wonderful day Linda.  I had a good day as well, even though I was working.  I got home about 11 pm, but my boss and all their guests really enjoyed their meal.  I even managed to do them a flag cake, which they all stood around and sang the star spangled banner over! It was cute!

I am so glad you got to share that special first with your grandkids. Glad to that it didn't rain. That sounds like a beautiful way to see fireworks, I have never seen them over water but Gordon says it's beautiful.
Take care

I don't think you could have had a better setting for fireworks, it sounds terrific.  I'm glad you had such a good time and Meghanne enjoyed her birthday.  I think the best thing would have been having your own bathroom..yay!
