Tuesday

Usually I don't care for frozen yogurt but Bob got this stuff last week & it's quite good.

The carton says that it's new..so maybe that's why I haven't seen it before. It claims to have "live & active cultures" and is 90 calories per  ½ cup. It has no fat of any kind but each serving has 20g of carbs and 14 g of sugar. It is good, especially with a little bit of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup drizzled over it.

The other day I noticed Gabi slinking in a crouched position across the living room carpet...she was headed for the sliding glass door.  I got up and looked and there was a gray squirrel laying on the deck railing..all spread out like he didn't have a care in the world.  He must have felt safe with that screen in between him and the cat.  They eyed each other for several minutes and then he climbed up my hanging basket & disappeared on the roof of my neighbor's carport.

(I've been shredding old papers, etc.  Still have a stack here in the lower right corner to tackle.)   There she goes........

And her's the object of her "crouched slink."

Can you see the squirrel laying there on the corner of the railing?

What a silly girl she is...to even consider that she could catch a squirrel.

It's icky hot here again today, but there is a breeze and it seems to be coming from the south...which could mean a change in the weather.  I have the carpet shampoo machine out...I need to use it but it's over 90* here in the house.  And both the front & back yard need mowed again. Too hot, I feel like wilted lettuce.

The news is reporting another child drowned in a local lake.  Only 6 years old...where was mom or whoever was supposed to be watching him?  So very sad......... Several lakes in the area have set up kiosks loaded with life vests of all sizes from infant up to adult sizes.  These vests were provided by local fire & rescue (funded by a special grant)  for people to borrow if they didn't have one of their own.   Well, it seems they are being ripped off on a nightly basis.  Apparently, they are there & being used during the day  but then after hours, thieves come in & steal them.  It's unbelievable to me how rude & crude some humans can be.

Barbara & I went to see "Hancock" today.  I didn't care for it.  Sort of stupid, quite a bit of swearing and a little too much violence for me.  I don't recommend it.  Sorry Will Smith...that's my opinion.       We'll see "Mama Mia" next Tuesday.  Today they showed previews for the new "James Bond" movie coming out in November.

Ok that's all for now.....I still plan on doing an entry on the visit of the Tall Ships...maybe later, maybe tomorrow.  Linda

I have never seen a squirrel laid out like that!  I don't have any screen doors in this house...I miss that.

We are allowed to swim in our lake, sut it is posted that the city is not responsiable. I watch my children like a hawk when we are down there. Side note I use to be a life guard. Anyway the girls are awesome swimmers, but even they can go under. Ryan wont go in past his knees. Even so I still watch him.

that is so cute about the squirrel!!! now if it was here and Koda saw it, there would be no peace, LOL

I'll have to check out that yogurt, looks delicious!!

thanks for the review about Hancock; we were debating whether to see it. I do like most of Will Smith's movies, but I'm not fond of crude language

its sad about that little one drowning at the lake; when we first moved back to So Calif., I was amazed at how many kids drowned in pools/jacuzzis, usually the same story I read over and over again in the paper were the kids went missing and when parents were looking for them, they didn't think to check the pool/jacuzzi first; each newspaper report would remind parents if you have a pool/jacuzzi, keep it secure. If your child is missing, immediately go and look there first. Just so sad.

The squirrels here are not the least bit afraid of the two cats.  And my cats are outside cats.  they sleep on the chair on the deck and the squirels are all around them.  Marlene

That was so sad to read that another child drowned ~ you can't let them out of your sight near rivers or lakes ~

I wanted to see "Hancock" now I shall wait until it comes out on DVD ~ I think "Mama Mia" is one I shall definitely go to see ~

I loved the picture of the squirrel and Gabi ~  Ally x

Gabi's a hunter...all cats are. The problem is they sometimes bite off more that they can chew.

The garbage that does the stealing of life vests should be the ones that later in the week drown because there isn't any.

Poor Gabi, at least she's got the hunting instinct :-)

Gabi is cute, she doesn't need to know she can't catch her live toy!  Sorry to hear Hancock wasn't too good, I like Will Smith so that is disappointing.  Too bad about the child drowning.  I can't understand why people aren't watching the children more closely...I guess it can happen quickly though.

Cats are funny creatures.  They often chase things they have no hope in hell of ever catching.  I think they relish the chase much more than they relish the capture!  I Love frozen yoghurt, which sadly and amazingly enough is something we can't get over here, or at least I've never been able to find any!  You'll love Mama Mia!  It's fantastic!

I want to see Mama Mia too!  So does my 14 yr old daughter.  She was surprised to hear that the musical the movie is based on, was made from an entire Abba CD.  She said, "who's Abba?"  She's heard all these songs redone by other people and had no idea.

I see your squirrel napping on your railing, that is so cute.  He must be a relaxed little guy.  Our squirrels run around like maniacs and I have never seen them relaxed like that.  Maybe its cause they know they steal our walnuts every year and we arent pleased, ha ha
