Hot again in Pasadena

Well I had a horrible night of coughing.  Finally about 2am I turned my overhead light on and read my book for a couple hours.  Finally fell asleep about 4am and woke up at 830am feeling absolutely horrible.  I called my insurance company and they said I needed to go to a hospital emergency room in order for them to pay. So Bob took me to the Methodist Hospital over in Arcadia, CA.

I was having some pains in my chest so when they took me back they hooked me up to all the monitors, did an EKG and drew 7 vials of blood.  I think that doctor ordered tests on everything.   Six and half hours later I was given copies of all my tests, discharge instructions and a Rx for Zithromax.  The diagnosis was "bronchitis" and apparently no cardiac problems, thankfully !

I think at this point the Mexican Rivera cruise is out of the question. In the past it's taken 3 or 4 weeks for me to completely get over this stuff and I just can't see taking the chance of having a relapse somewhere in Mexico.  So hopefully the insurance company will take pity on us and refund as much of our money as possible.

Meanwhile we'll hang around here until my Rx is gone, and I feel better...then we'll head home.

I hope everyone had a good Monday....and that it's cooler where you are than where I am.

Hey Linda.  So sorry your are sick.  That's no fun on vacation.  You would not believe how long it takes to load AOL journals now.  There are only a couple left that I follow but Grrrrrr at how slow they load.  I'm lovin' Blogspot and I think everyone else is adjusting pretty well too.  Change is hard but here we are.  I heard a rumor that AOL is shutting down completely in January.  We'll see.  Get better GF.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this! What a shame you'll miss the cruise, but I don't blame you...I doubt if you'd really want to be forced to go to a Mexican hospital if you had a relapse. :(

I'm glad it wasn't anything cardiac, though, thank goodness for that!

Hope you start feeling better soon!

Hugs, Beth

Dearest Linda,

So sorry to hear that you were not feeling well.    I am in the final stages of getting our insurance claim done for our cancellation of our Alaska trip.
I have to get the copies of the CC from my travel agent as I can NOT find mine.
I hope there is no glitch.
My hubby's heart attack was instrumental in the cancellation but then when son got so sick (Febrile Neutrophenia ??) that was the straw that broke the camels back.
Hope to hear from you soon my friend.

Love Lori

Hi Linda, so sorry you are having such a bad time, but thankfully it is not your heart.  Bronchitis is quite a hard thing to get rid of I get it usually every winter.  I also get Zithromax but in a peadiatric dose as I am allergic to almost every antibiotic.  Sorry you cant go on the other cruise.  I hope you recover quickly and soon will be well enough to travel home.  Take care and god bless.
