Rainy Day in Pasadena

It was a rainy, lazy day here today.  And now tonight Bob & I are here alone. His daughter and family had a prior commitment and we told them to go ahead & go.  We warmed up left overs and I'm doing some laundry, doing a journal entry and watching TV.

This rain is most welcome to southern California.  Things are really dry.  I know on Wednesday when we were on Catalina Island, I visited the Wrigley Botanical Garden & the gardeners there expressed their concern at the "drought" that they have been having. They've got all those hundreds of trees, shrubs & plants to keep alive and very little water. One of the gardeners told us that day that rain was expected today & they were hoping the forecast was correct.

One day next week we'll head down to the LA wholesale district to the handbag section.  I got a purse there when we were down here in March of 2007 and it's just about to fall apart.  I use it all the time and I love it, so I'm hoping I can find another one very similar

Other than that, we have no big plans until the 12th when we get back on that big boat.  I hope this next time, there's no "rock & roll" business.

That's all for tonight folks...I really wish I were home so I could make this necessary transition before the deadline.  Hugs to you all....Linda

Wish I could be doing what you are doing...I just found out that young Joey is in San Francsico right now. The day before I left Washington his company had lay offs and of course since he was new kid on the block he was one of the first to be laid off, they said they would take him back as soon as things picked up. So he tried to find another job for a few days had no luck filed unemployment and now he is exploring the area..lol. Oh to be footloose, and young again...lol. Take it easy and have fun...love, Sandi

Hi, Linda!  Did you hear that the AOL journals are shutting down?  Most of us are heading over to Blogspot.com and setting up new journals.  We have until the end of the month of October to transfer our stuff out and then AOL is turning off our stuff..eliminating the FTP site to so be sure to save your photos and animations before then if you don't have them stored anywhere else.

I've set up a blog too and I hope you will visit and become one of my followers.  I will still keep my AOL email account for awhile. At first I was upset but then I found that the blogspot is kind of fun and it's not to hard to figure out...you will find a lot of your journal friends setting up there....kind of feel like a refugee...LOL.

Hope to see you there because I'd like to keep in toughc...here is my new  site URL:
http://littlethingsphotoblog.blogspot.com/       I posted my last post on my AOL journal which also points people to my new site...    Maria

Glad to hear someone is getting rain. All we have is cool temps we haven't dropped to 30s yet, but it won't be long. I think 41 was the lowest we've had so far. I'm holding out on the furnance, but sure is cold when you wake up in the morning. I need to get me a new coffee pot. I don't like coffee much unless it's freezing. Hope you find a new purse. You're like me I keep one until it falls apart.
Take care, Chrissie

In my morning paper I read whooping cough has appeared.  I think I remembered getting a shot for that as a child.
