When we first saw the '90' sign I thought "Wow, you can really go fast here on this Canadian highway." And Bob stepped on the gas a little and then it dawned on us "It's kilometers." 90 kilometers is the equivalent to 55 miles per hour. He slowed down. Thankfully our cars here in the U.S. have both MPH and KM on our speedometers.

I was in Kingston Canada a few times years ago gas was 55 cents at the time i thought it was for a gallon but it was actually for a liter. that was in the late 80s early 90's.
I remember that from when we there. Took some getting used to. I hope your having a blast.

Wonder if they would let you slide if you were pulled over going 90??
It's probably been tried many times. ;)
Doing 90 in a 55 zone... not a good idea lol Just as well you tweaked in time :-)
Several years ago I actually had a car from Canada and it was all in Kl! LOL

LOL! I doubt if the Canadian police would accept your excuse, either!
May have to keep that one in the excuse book :o)
Hi Linda, Reading your entry made me remember while driving my daughters van in Calgary I could not figure out why I was passing everyone because I am usually law-abiding THEN I remember they brought this car out of the USA and there was ONLY speed in MPH.
Many an American came across the border where hubby was a Police officer to be stopped going 100 MPH..depending on their attitude whether they were extended grace on the matter.
Love ALBERTA Lori
I am glad you did not receive a ticket before you figured kilometers vs miles. I used to ask Pierre a thousand questions about Canada since I figured I would never get there. He even used to beat me in squabble because all those french words were in the scrabble dictionary and that was not supposed to happen.
I probably wouldn't have seen the kilometers & gotten pulled over. That lodge looks like quite the place!! I really wish we'd gone to Canada when we were visiting our kids up there (Steilacoom/Ft Lewis & Everett). I just love Washington...in the summer. I have never experienced it in any other season though I think I would love it. I HATE how dry it is in this part of Texas. We had winds and dusty air today. It's just the beginning too.
Take care, have fun, stay safe!
