FOOD FRIDAY

Here's a great recipe for a summer salad.  I had this at a family birthday party last week....I snagged the recipe to share with you. It's very good and can be made the night before or a couple hours before your event.

Grape Summer Salad

2 pounds each of red & green grapes
8 ounce container of sour cream
8 oz cream cheese
¼ cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Wash the grapes well and remove from stems then place in large bowl.  Mix sour cream & cream cheese, adding sugar and vanilla.  Mix together with the grapes until all are coated.
Topping: 1 cup chopped walnuts & 1 cup brown sugar mixed together & sprinkled over the top of the grape mixture.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy

This sounds good...I may have to try that on our next family get-together, and I think all the kids would eat it, too. Sometimes getting them to eat anything healthy is a challenge.

I made it tonight! We were invited to a BBQ tomorrow at a house of one of Michael's friend, they said not to bring anything but I had to make this and boy the taste I had is good! Will let you know how everyone else likes it tomorrow.

Sounds SOOOO good. A friend of mine makes a fruit dip with similar ingredients including pumpkin pie filling for fall. I will have to see if I have the recipe still. I am the ONLY person on the planet probably that does not care for pumpkin pie, but this dip is to die for. Have a good Sunday. Hugs, Barb.

I've made this twice now and I think I am making it for my christmas party even if it is a "summer" salad.
