RUNAWAY UPDATE

Lynnette called me early this morning.  She found her grand daughter in the city park in Puyallup, last night.  She was with a girl named Nicole. The frustrating thing is the family called Nicole's house first because whenever Cierra was upset with her mom and step dad, she would go Nicole's house for a reprieve. Nicole lives with her father and when they called, the father swore up and down that Cierra was not there and that he had not seen her.  Lynnette said that Cierra was reluctant to get into her car because she said she didn't want to go back and live with her mom and step dad at this time.  So right now, the girl is with her grandma.  This family still has a lot of issues to work out and Lynnette feels overwhelmed.  She's already raised 3 girls, mostly by herself and to take on a 16 year old grand daughter at age 62, is a huge assignment.   She is so very thankful for the thoughts and prayers but her final words to me this morning were..."please ask them to keep praying, I'm not sure I'm up to this (raising a teenage grand daughter)"  Hopefully, they can get some family counseling and Cierra can go home to her mother and step dad and live in harmony.

It's a little cooler here today.  When I got home from work the living room temperature was about 86 degrees.  I've opened up everthing I can open and since there's a nice breeze (10-20 miles per hour) blowing out there...I'm hoping the house will be a little more comfortable tonight than it was last night.

Thank you again for your prayers and concern for my dear friend's grand daughter.  I think it's so wonderful that we have this "electronic opportunity" to support each other thru the good times and the bad.

Until next time............Linda

Well thank goodness!   I was just remembering when we lived in WA we didn't have a/c in our house on base either.  That didn't last long for me, I went out and bought a window a/c.  I just hate being hot.  Sending you wishes for cool weather!

Thankful she was found! Hopefully all will end well, maybe not going home is best at this point. She may need a refuge for a while.

I read your journal regular, found through other bloggers I follow.I don't always add comments regular, due to ill health from time to time, but felt I had to comment on this entry.I have been saying my prayers they find your friends Grandaughter and this worry alone for her, must have been traumatic. It is a very hard assighnment your friend has to take on I agree,as we get older,we do not have the same paceince etc!!!! Teenages are so hard to raise in today's world, and sometimes proffesional help is the best answer.Even if we have all the love in the world for them..Also a problem shared is a problem halved I always say,an dit si good to shre troubles with others it helps plenty!!!!!!!!!
So my prayers will now be for your friend that God gives her strength to see all this through, and lets hope with an happy outcome.
Take care.Blessings to your friend and everyone concerned in the matter.
Regards Astoriasand.

I'm so glad she was found safe, I can't believe the irresponsible attitude of Nicoles' father saying they hadn't seen her. Doesn't he realise they were worried. I sure wouldn't want to have to bring up teenagers nowadays, I hope Lynette can cope. I'm glad it's cooling down for you and Gabi! Jeannette xx

Glad to hear the grand daughter is safe, but, if there is no abuse issues with hter parents, she probably wants to live with Grandma so she can do things her parents won't let her do...your friend does not need that kind of stress in her life...is there no aunt or uncle who could help out until the family can work things out?
It was cooler outside than in our apartment, yesterday!  But, our fans are keeping up pretty well.  And if we open the front door, and the patio door, and wind tunnel is created...feels great!  But the dogs go nuts every time they hear someone on the stairs...Jae
