Wednesday Afternoon Shopping Trip

I picked up my grand daughter about 1pm today, because she wanted to get a couple tank tops and sandals for summer.  I had already explained to her, they were in the stores now.....not in June.  In June they will be all gone and the winter clothes will be out.  She liked the couple of tank tops and the beige sandals I'd bought at Wal Mart so we headed out to the one in Puyallup.   She did get two tanks and the same sandals as mine and came in under the dollar limit set by her mom & dad. So she was a happy shopper.

After we left Wal Mart, I wanted to drive down farther into the Puyallup Valley to the Van Lierop bulb farm and see what was blooming.  There was just a little color of tulips here and there, it's still a little early for them but there were daffodils and heather blooming everywhere.  I've included some pictures.  I bought a pot of 5 tulips about to bloom for $4.00 and 5 bunches of cut daffodils for $10.00.  I gave some to Meghanne to take home and have the rest here in a vase in my living room.  The pot of tulips has been transplanted into a planter on my front porch so in a few days they will be blooming and add a cheery note to anyone who stops by.

It's been sunny all day, but not as warm as it was last week.  If there's sun, I can take the cold....

The gas prices are on the rise again.  I saw regular unleaded at a Shell station today for $2.75 a gallon.  I guess in some areas of southern California it's up over $3.00 a gallon.  Since I'm not driving back & forth to work anymore my gas consumption has gone way down.  Come summer, I may drive more to go down to the waterfront and little day trips here and there but that's pleasure and that's different.   :)

I hope everyone had a good Wednesday....until next time,  Linda

Sounds like a nice day.  Looks like you were in my neck of the woods or the daffodil fields.

Beautiful pictures.  I guess I never knew about that farm.  Remember when we marched in the daffodil parade for drill team?  I think you were in it weren't you?
Glad you had a nice day with your grand daughter.  Joni

Pix 7 and 9 were my faves.  Glad your granddaughter got her "tanks" & sandals.  Had to smile at what yu thought were high gas prices, ours have been hovering at 3.05 for awhile now - but I'm close to NYC (however that makes a difference lol) so it's nothing new here.  Hey, this might be the start of weaning people off fuel-burning engines?  I can dream I guess...  xoxo CATHY

Beautiful flowers!! the pictures reminded me that when we lived in Fremont their were fields and fields of various flowers being harvested just down the road from us....
It's in the mid 80's here in Fresno and gas is $3.21...
Have a great day!
Linda :)

The daffodils are gorgeous Linda, it's so nice to see flowers after the dark dreary winter. I'm glad Meghanne got her tank tops and sandals, you're right, just as we get into summer all the winter clothes appear in the shops! HI, Linda!  It was sunny today and got to the 70's...can you believe it?  I'll have to check out that bulb farm when the tulips get to blooming.  I have some close ups of crocus near Lake Union that I'll have to post soon.   Gas prices are the pits.  My daughter has a boyfriend in Corvalis, Oregon so it definitely takes it's toll when she drives down there.  Happy ST. Patty's day!  Maria
