MONDAY PHOTO SHOOT: WORKING IN THE SHADOW

It's so bright any sunny during these dummer days. Let's go in the opposite direction:

Your Monday Photo Shoot from John: Take a picture in which shadow plays a significant role in the composition. You may ask, how does this differ from
the recent Photo Shoot involving silhouettes? Silhouettes are a very specific sort of shadowplay, and for this assignment you can take a wider approach -- shadows of all sorts (you can use silhouettes, of course. Just don't recycle the shot you use!). Shadows make give a photo drama it might not otherwise have.

Since it's raining in my area right now......I'm using a picture I took this last April in Los Angeles.  This picture was taken inside the intrance of the Bradbury Building in downtown L.A.  Bob and his daughter Hope entered the building just before I did. The sun was streaming thru the high atrium window, but at this point Bob & Hope are still in the shadows.

Interesting pictures.  I love taking photos and find it so interesting to play with different lights and shadows.  They can make something like food (which is what I photograph the most) look so different depending on the light and shadow at the time you are shooting the picture.
