I was out and about in my car today and as I pulled up to a stop light, I looked to my left and couldn't believe my eyes~it looked like a space ship was about to land on our always beautiful Mt Rainier. After the light turned green, I pulled into the nearest parking lot and got out my camera. (Monica, I actually had it with me today & I got this at Cirque Drive & Bridgeport Way). It's views like this that make me realize how blessed I am to live here in the Pacific Northwest where~on any clear day Mt Rainier is always there.
I was out and about to when I saw that! However, I was kicking myself for NOT having my camera. I wrote a blog entry about it with some photos that I got of it ... yes, I RACED home like a mad woman to get my camera. It was worth it! It was an incredable sight. I like your location. I went to the school on Alaska Ave as I wasn't sure how far I could get as light was fading as well as the clouds breaking up.
Linda, I thought I was the only one that did things like this! I was out and about too but too busy to check out the mountain as I was driving north on I-5 to get to a Dinner engagement with a friend...yep it sure looks like a spaceship...pretty neat...Monica's photos turned out well too! Maria
Just hopping around and stopped for a view, beautiful pictures, never been any farther west than Texas, have a son who lives in Portland, OR. Hope to get there some day! enjoyed the visit.
I'm glad you had your camera with you Linda, these are beautiful shots! Mt Rainier always looks so beautiful in your photos, I want to see it in real life one day! Jeannette xx

Linda, the whole mountain looks surreal, like it was floating in space. D

Looks like a Volcano?
The cloud above the mountain reflects how it diverts the air currents
