FOOD FRIDAY

TEXAS CHICKEN

1 cup uncooked rice (not instant)
1 can Cream of Chicken soup
1 package dry onion soup mix
1/4 cup melted butter
2 cups water
1 cut up chicken fryer (do not brown or cook chicken ahead of time)

In a 9 inch by 13 inch pan, mix all the ingredients together except the chicken pieces and the butter. Brush the chicken with the melted butter and lay on the rice mixture. Bake uncovered for 1-1/2 to 2 hours hours at 350* (until chicken is done).

My aunt use to make this for all of us kids. In the summer time my sister and I would go to her house, so she would have 5 hungry teen's in the house. This dish is so quick and easy and it is very filling! Thanks for the memory.
Oh my Aunt would sprinkle seasoning salt on the chichen....so good.
