The crowd in Washington watching
Abraham Lincoln 16th President of the United States
Rick Warren giving the Invocation
Aretha Franklin
Lady Liberty
Vice President Joe Biden taking the oath of office
the 44th President of the United States Barack Obama taking the oath of office
Pictures taken off my television. I'm sure you all saw it on your own TV but I felt the desire to post these pictures. I hope that as this new administration begins, that we as Americans will remember that this is the man that has been elected to run our country. And whether we voted for him or not...it is our duty to respect the office of the President and to pray for him and his family on a daily basis. (First Timothy 2:1-2) The following words appear in the White House, put there by John Adams in November 1800 "I pray Heaven to bestow the best of Blessings on this House and on all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise Men ever rule under this roof."

now was that an awesome prayer that Rick did? that moved me to tears!
it saddened me today to realize I didn't pray much for Mr. Bush, a man of I believe great faith
I will pray for Mr. Obama and our country

AMEN!
I watched everything this morning on the news. I so was not going to miss this history making moment!

This morning's events were truly awesome, and of course, history making.
I was telling my son that everyone is on a HIGH right now, holding President Obama up on such a high pedestal, which he so very well deserves; however, because of the state of our economy, people are seeing him as a superman, a hero, someone who will rescue us. There is so much work to be done to bring us back from this deep dark home we're in, and in my opinion, people are going to want change NOW (snapping fingers), just like most of us want to lose weight NOW...and it just can't happen that way.
I hope people are patient and give President Obama the time he needs to turn this country around, and I hope they realize that it can't happen in a few months. This is going to take yeeeeears.
Let us all pray for our new president and his family, that they may guide everyone in the right direction.

Nicely put, Linda. I saw your First Timothy reference on Facebook and went and looked it up! Exactly.
Hugs, Beth
How fun you posted pictures from the tv!... I was watching them have lunch while I was at lunch at work...
Actually I didn't see or hear any of it. Tuesday is my catch up day for my trashy Celebreality shows on VH1...nothing can top that! LOL
That hat reminds me of a marcasite broach I once saw on QVC.
